It's time for a reintroduction! Buttle UK is a charity that supports children & young people who face poverty & crisis situations. Founded back in 1953, we give grants to support families for everyday necessities that we would expect any child growing up in the UK to have.

How Buttle helped with Joel’s first Halloween! 🎃 Joel (2) was taken into foster care while his parents were unable to look after him. When he was able to come home, it was just before Halloween! As a part of his Buttle grant, Joel got a pumpkin costume to go Trick or Treating!

This analysis by @jrf_uk is brilliant!
🚨 NEW ANALYSIS! Our latest modelling finds that without urgent action on the cost of living, this will still be the worst parliament on record for living standards. Our analysis shows that households across the income spectrum will suffer the hit 👇

🚨 BREAKING: Despite rising rents, the government has chosen not to end the freeze on housing support in today’s #Budget2026. For years, rents have continued to rise but support hasn’t. As a result, too many people are being forced to decide between paying the rent and putting food on the table. While the government's decision to provide more support with energy bills is positive, keeping housing support frozen means many will still struggle to afford the essentials. The government wants to end the need for emergency food. It won't achieve that while housing support remains frozen.

An exciting moment for us at Buttle, we’ve recruited new members to our Youth Advisory Panel! Our YAP is the group of young people that work alongside us to shape what we do. In this video, some of our new members tell us what they’re excited about doing as a part of the YAP!

Over 1 million children across the country have been referred to mental health services according to the new shocking @ChildrensComm report The postcode lottery is unfair - every child deserves equal opportunities regardless of where they live.
Today I launch my landmark dataset: The Childhood Lottery.📍 Children feel it's harder to grow up in some places than others. Now I've brought together the evidence showing what a child’s experience is like in every postcode. Full report👉🏼 childrenscommissioner.gov.uk…

Safe housing should be a human right. This weekend was the International Day for the Eradication of Poverty. That’s why we’ve spent £537,352 on furniture and home furnishings so far this year. We believe every child deserves a safe and stable home.

We want the government to give kinship carers paid leave from work when they begin caring for a child. And we’re not alone. New research from Kinship found that 76% of employers support government-funded paid leave for kinship carers. Sign the petition: secure.kinship.org.uk/page/1…

Exciting news! 🎉 We’ve officially reached £2m in grants given to children and young people for days out, extra-curricular activities and so much more. It felt like not long ago that we’d reached £1m! Helena’s story is just one of many young people we’ve helped this year.

Despite navigating grief, she’s managed to stay at college and has kept her part time job. She has a very supportive group of friends around her.

Buttle gave Helena things she needed to maintain her home, like new flooring. She got a new laptop so she’s able to do her work for college. She hopes to go to uni one day!

£84.65. That’s the amount someone under 25 on Universal Credit receives a week. To cover food, bills, and everything else. Not enough? Exactly.
