At just four months old, Coen had surgery to correct sagittal craniosynostosis, a condition in which the bones of his skull had fused too early. During the operation, the protective lining around his brain was accidentally torn.

In 2012, Chive Charities was born out of the idea that a lot of people giving a little can make a life-changing difference.
It is what fuels our work to this day as we close in on $24 million in grants with over 1700 lives changed and almost 800 stories shared.
At 10 years old, Leah is ready to explore the world. But living with Joubert syndrome means that something as simple as walking across the grass, stepping off a curb, or climbing onto a school bus can take extraordinary effort.
