A very welcome and progressive step in the evolution of India’s GST framework. The GST Council’s recommendations to withdraw arrest provisions under Section 69 of the CGST Act and raise the prosecution threshold from ₹1 crore to ₹5 crore reflect a positive shift towards a more balanced, proportionate and trust-based tax administration. This is a significant boost to industry confidence and ease of doing business. What does it take to go from a small job shop in Rajkot to a leading name in CNC machines? At the 3rd CII Gujarat MSME Conclave 2026, Mr Parakramsinh Jadeja, Founder, Chairman & Managing Director, @JyotiHuron, shared his journey in a fireside chat, "From Vision to Value: Inspiring Growth Stories for Indian MSMEs," moderated by Mr Varang Trivedi, Convenor, CII Gujarat MSME & Vendor Development Panel. He started in 1989 with a lathe machine and a small government-scheme loan. He invested early in a computer and AutoCAD, built his first machine in 1999, and later acquired a European machine-tool maker founded in 1827. His key messages for MSMEs: - Get clear on your vision and mission. Jyoti spent nine months defining its purpose in 2003-04, with a 20-year view: "Propel Technology and Prosperity in Life." - Invest in innovation. "Without innovation, there is no sustainability." Start with around 5% of your top line for R&D and raise it as you scale. - Don't wait for support to grow. Chart your own path. The 3rd Edition of the CII Gujarat MSME Conclave 2026 is under way at Ahmedabad, on the theme "Future Ready MSMEs: AI, Supply Chains & Business Opportunities." The inaugural session set the tone for the day: - AI, automation and digital tools are no longer only for large corporations. MSMEs can start with practical, scalable steps and build from there. - Becoming a preferred supplier to large corporates means consistent quality, timely delivery and compliance. - Gujarat's MSMEs have the opportunity to lead in using AI, as Gujarat's industry has led in adopting technology before.
