President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and President Volodymyr Zelenskyy of Ukraine held a joint press conference following their meeting: "During our meeting with President Zelenskyy, we exchanged views on ensuring safe navigation in the Black Sea. Since the beginning of the war, we have been making active efforts to preserve security and stability in the Black Sea. However, alongside the recent escalation, we are witnessing the spillover of hostilities into the Black Sea. Attacks on civilian vessels and any steps that could further escalate the situation in the Black Sea serve no one's interests. We cannot accept these attacks under any circumstances, regardless of who carries them out or what justification is put forward. We call on all parties to act responsibly. We will continue our discussions with the parties concerned to restore the safety of navigation in the Black Sea. I believe that reaching an agreement on this matter would also give fresh impetus to efforts to achieve lasting peace in Ukraine. We also intend to discuss this issue with Russia, with the aim of advancing the process."

I once again extend my condolences to President Zelenskyy and the friendly people of Ukraine for those who have lost their lives in the war. During the meeting, we discussed in detail the recent stepped-up efforts to achieve peace in Ukraine and the security situation in the Black Sea. We welcome the renewed momentum behind initiatives aimed at bringing the war to an end through diplomatic means, particularly in light of the efforts being made by US President Donald J. Trump. The negotiations between Ukraine and Russia that we hosted had demonstrated that diplomacy could deliver tangible results. Even today, we believe that there can be no losers in a just peace. I want to emphasise that we stand ready to make every possible effort to pave the way for peace."
