Should NYC help flood-zone homeowners in SE Queens sell and relocate? Int. 0136-2026 would study voluntary buyouts for homeowners in flood-impacted areas like Jamaica, Springfield Gardens, and St. Albans. Weigh in 👇 — do you support it? communitypact.org/legislatio…

Queens made history this weekend. Adrienne Adams — Council Speaker since 2022, highest-ranking Queens official in city history — is now New York's Lieutenant Governor. For SE Queens, that means accountability just got harder to track. And more necessary. 🧵

CommunityPact has tracked 221 commitments tied to Queens leadership. Only 10 have been fulfilled. 171 still unclaimed. As Adams heads to Albany, we're keeping the receipts.

HEARING HELD: Int 1042-2026 would put NYC snow plowing data online for everyone. The Council's Sanitation Committee heard it Nov 2 and laid it over. Winter is coming, and Queens deserves to see which streets get plowed. 🧵
1
13
What it does: Sanitation, DOT and DoITT would keep a public website of current and historical plowing data, so you can check if your block was served. 14 Council Members sponsor it, incl. Queens CMs Hankerson, Williams and Brooks-Powers.

📋 Community Opinion: Int 0045-2026 Would you support a Flood Risk study for Queens development zones? This bill studies how new construction worsens SE Queens flooding & requires a public report within 24 months. Drop ✅ YES or ❌ NO in comments. communitypact.org/legislatio…

⚠️ Queens: 7 days until eLURP + AHAB rules take effect Nov 14. Developers can now bypass your City Council vote on housing via a 90-day fast track. The Mayor's new board can overturn a Council NO. 5 Queens districts affected. communitypact.org #Queens #NYC

NEW: Int 0905 (COPA) passed the NYC Council on Oct 22 and the Mayor held his hearing Nov 4. Next step: his signature. It would give nonprofits first dibs on buying run-down apartment buildings, a big deal for Queens renters. 🧵

19
What it does: for covered buildings with 4+ apartments and repeated violations, qualified nonprofits get 20 days to show interest and 70 days to make an offer before a sale. Owners who skip the notice face fines up to 15% of the sale price.

📊 OPINION: NY Bill A7992 would require NYC to analyze stormwater & groundwater issues in SE Queens and create an action plan. It's active. And this morning, Jamaica is under a flood advisory. YES or NO? communitypact.org/legislatio… #A7992 #QueensFlooding
