We are gearing up for The Kochi Coastal Collective at Fort Kochi Beach, bringing together 100+ student leaders from five Kochi schools for a morning of action and learning.
Hear from Dilip George, Dean and Principal of Global Public School, Kochi, our host school, on why this initiative matters.
A collaboration between Pupil Leaders Action Network (PLAN) and CSE's Marine Marshals programme, the event will take students beyond a beach clean-up. By sorting the litter they collect, they will explore what ends up on our shores, understand the problem of marine litter, and discover how they can be part of the solution.

What does marine litter mean for ocean life, and what can we do about it?
We are inviting students and teachers from coastal regions to join an interactive session with @Sajan John of the @wti_org_india. Drawing on his field experiences in marine conservation, he will explore how marine litter affects aquatic life and ecosystems.
The session will also launch The Marine Pitch, a student contest inviting teams to identify a real marine litter problem and pitch creative, practical solutions.

On October 29, CSE’s Water Programme brought together over 35 stakeholders for a roundtable on decentralised wastewater treatment and bulk reuse.
The discussion brought government representatives, technology providers, resident welfare associations, academics and decentralised sewage treatment plant (DSTP) operators into the same room to explore the challenges, available technologies and practical solutions for scaling up wastewater reuse.
Representatives from agencies including DPCC, @CPCB_OFFICIAL, the Odisha Water Supply and Sewerage Board and @DelhiJalBoard, alongside technology providers such as DiaKi Axis, eGreen and @TellusHabitat shared perspectives on the way forward.
The session opened with @Swati13488 presenting CSE’s experience on the ground, setting the stage for a discussion on how decentralised systems can contribute to more effective wastewater management and reuse.
Convened by @Suchak2001 and @lakewarriors from CSE’s Water Programme, the roundtable aimed to identify potential solutions through collective discussion and exchange.

We are heading to Fort Kochi Beach, and we are bringing a wave of young changemakers with us!
On November 2, 100+ student leaders from five Kochi schools will come together for 'The Kochi Coastal Collective', a mega beach clean-up followed by hands-on activities and learning about marine litter.
Students will also sort and audit the waste they collect to find out what is washing up on our shores, which kinds of litter are most common, and what this tells us about pollution along our coast.
A collaboration between the Centre for Science and Environment (CSE) and PLAN (Pupil Leaders Action Network), the event is part of CSE's Marine Marshals programme, under the Green Schools Programme, which empowers schools in coastal India to take an active role in understanding and managing marine litter.
📢 Ep. 17 of Carbon Politics is out now!
In this episode, Kartikeya Garg from CSE’s Climate Change and Green Economy team and Trishant Dev discuss the recent developments in the EU CBAM and its implications for global trade.
The conversation examines Russia’s challenge to CBAM at the World Trade Organization (WTO), the key legal questions it raises, and what the dispute could mean for countries navigating the intersection of climate action and multilateral trading rules.
Tune in to understand what this dispute could mean for the future of climate policy and global trade:
