Glad to hear from 🇬🇷 & 🇨🇾 Ministers that EU-backed Great Sea Interconnector is advancing.
A key strategic energy link, one of our 🇪🇺 Energy Highways, that will end 🇨🇾 energy isolation while contributing to regional security of energy supplies, market integration & lower prices.
We need to do everything we can to alleviate the impact of the current energy crisis on European citizens and companies.

Europe faces a difficult winter.
We must ensure reliable fuel supplies for our citizens, businesses, & defense.
And we must ensure that these supplies are affordable.
Today we started our dialogue with European refineries.
Looking at short-term & long-term.

Climate change is already impacting people's health, safety, livelihoods, quality of life, the continuity of essential services & business operations.
We urgently need to step up climate resilience.
Today @EU_Commission has proposed an EU Framework for Climate Resilience. ↓
We need to strengthen Europe's ability to anticipate, prepare for & manage climate risks.
This is essential for our energy security. Our system must be prepared for climate impacts - low river levels that disrupt fuel transport & power plants, heatwaves that strain our grids. ↓
