The Department of Commerce, in collaboration with DGFT Chennai, and Guidance Tamil Nadu, Government of Tamil Nadu, and the Federation of Indian Export Organisations (FIEO), organised a State-Level Workshop on Leveraging Free Trade Agreements (FTAs) to enhance awareness of global trade opportunities and strengthen Tamil Nadu’s export competitiveness. The workshop brought together 198 exporters from nine sectors, including engineering, leather, gems and jewellery, and agriculture, to explore market access opportunities under India’s nine new FTAs and their effective utilisation towards the US$1 trillion export target for the current year and the vision of a US$30 trillion economy by 2047.
