Our members in the welding and fabrication department of City of Glasgow College deserve to feel safe at work with the proper air-fed RPE masks. Yet, the biggest college in Scotland refuses to provide them. Other colleges provide air-fed RPE; why won't City of Glasgow?

Today, we held a mega picket at GCU, with special guests and faithfuls of the trade union movement, Roz Foyer and Paul Nowak. Together with striking members at GCU, we demanded an end to compulsory redundancies and to #Savethe100

Monica Lennon MSP raised a question in Scottish Parliament today concerning the ongoing dispute at City of Glasgow College, whose welding lecturers have been on discontinuous strike since March 2026 to put pressure on the College to provide RPE. The strikers simply want RPE and to return to work to teach.
