A map captures a moment. The history behind it tells a longer story. Through India State Stories, Prof. Shivakumar Jolad explores how India’s states and districts have evolved from the colonial period to the present, drawing on historical maps, census records, government archives, and data spanning decades. The research traces changes in administrative boundaries alongside the political and historical developments that have shaped modern India. It also examines how census categories, including caste, religion, and language, have influenced the way India’s population and identities are documented and understood. At FLAME, research brings historical records and data together to uncover patterns, question familiar narratives, and deepen our understanding of India’s evolving political and social landscape. Discover India’s evolving administrative history through the interactive maps and dashboards at indiastatestory.in

At FLAME University, ME360 is an experiential career-readiness initiative that connects the breadth of a liberal education with the evolving realities of the professional world.Through industry leadership panels, interactive workshops, career-focused sessions and alumni interactions, students explored what it takes to navigate professional journeys with clarity, confidence and intention. From understanding employer expectations and exploring AI’s role in the future of work to strengths assessment, career mapping, personal branding, LinkedIn, professional etiquette, communication and emotional intelligence, the sessions encouraged students to connect their individual strengths and values with industry needs.
