The Freshman Canadian had a huge fall and is a left side of the infield defender handling both 3B and SS. Very high expectations for what his Freshman spring looks like.

Our 2027 spring schedule is now public and on our team website. The Commodores will play 17 of the first 18 games in Bay County and of the 51 scheduled regular season games 29 will be played at Bill Frazier Field with another 4 played at Publix Sports Park right down the street. For the first time in a long time the Dores will open the season at home (1/29-1/31) playing 4 games against @LoganVolsBsbl (2) and @JC_BobcatsBB (2). The Bobcats are the defending Region 23 (Mississippi) champs and appeared in the 2026 NJCAA D2 World Series. Congratulations to RHP Kasten Goebbert on his commitment to Western Kentucky. Kasten worked out of the Commodore bullpen last season and the 6’4 righty was absolutely lights out down the stretch. In conference play only, amongst all Florida Jucos, Goebbert led the state (min 15 IP) with a jaw dropping 17 K/9. Goebbert teamed up with former Commodore teammate and now current WKU RHP Pierce Juhan to be the 2 most dominant relievers in the state in Panhandle / Citrus Conf play. Congratulations to our SS Gavin Howard on his commitment to Stetson. Gavin was 1st team all defense in the Panhandle Conference and also took home the Panhandle Conference defensive player of the year awarded to the best defender at any position. He’s also had a huge fall at the plate putting together a 2026 fall slash line of 371 / 476 / 600 (1.076 OPS) 2 2B 2 HR 14% BB 7% K

Commodores wrap up the 2026 fall season hosting @Chipola_BSB at Bill Frazier field today at 11:00 in a single 9 inning game. Last chance to get a look at our new group before winter workouts as we head into the 2027 spring season that’s right around the corner.

Uncommitted Sophomore RHP Ethan Garrett finished up a great fall preparing for his Sophomore season. The righty works with a FB, SL, CH arsenal with the plus changeup thrown to both RHH’s and LHH’s being the primary secondary that generates whiffs at a high clip. Garrett lands both secondaries for strikes at a high level with a slider that spins 2650-2800 for a strike at a 63.5% clip while landing the changeup for a strike at an even more impressive 67% rate. 2026 fall - 2.53 ERA 0.84 WHIP 10.2 IP 4 H 3 R 5 BB 14 K 34% K 12% BB Garrett spent his freshman spring in the Sun Belt logging 35 innings at Georgia Southern including 7 starts while making appearances against 7 NCAA postseason teams.

Uncommitted Sophomore LHP MD Johnson @milesdrewj wrapped up an outstanding fall. The polished lefty used a 5 pitch arsenal (FB, CT, SL, CB, CH) to throw 10 scoreless frames this fall. 2026 fall - 0.00 ERA 1.00 WHIP 10 IP 7 H 0 R 3 BB 13 K 32.5% K 7.5% BB (MLB avg 22% K 9% BB) Spent his freshman spring at Huntingdon leading the team in innings (68.1) and strikeouts (70) while pitching to a 23.5% K rate and 6% BB rate.

Uncommitted Sophomore C @BraydenMann13 returns after splitting catching duties with 1st team All State selection Bray Touchstone last season. Mann’s massive 6’5 200 pound frame provides a big target and his excellent glove work steals strikes for the Commodore pitching staff. After closing last spring on a tear, homering 3 times the last week of the regular season + postseason, Mann will return to slot directly into the middle of the Commodore lineup on a daily basis. Last 5 weeks of 2025 spring slash line 310/375/759 (1.134 OPS) 4 HRs (All games were Panhandle Conf games or postseason games) 2026 fall slash line 333/387/630 (1.017 OPS) 2 2Bs 2 HRs In addition to the on the field ability Mann shows great leadership qualities and takes care of his pitchers as good as you’ll see at this level.

Uncommitted Sophomore Davis Avera returns after a huge freshman year where he slashed 360/468/640 (1.108 OPS) with high level batted ball data while slugging 8 homers, 18 doubles, and 4 triples. Good for a 47% XBH%. (MLB average 34.5%) A primary CF in HS the 6’2 200 pounder can handle all 3 OF positions (has played all 3 at GC) with the athleticism and speed to play CF and the rocket arm and slug profile to play RF. Avera will play his Sophomore year coming off a freshman spring where he was named both 1st team all state and 1st team all Panhandle Conference in addition to being named a top 10 overall player (pitcher or position player) in the Panhandle Conference.

1st team All State and all Panhandle Conference performer last season. Carson was 1 of 3 freshman from last year’s team to move to the D1 level after one season. Zagryn slashed 399/484/766 (1.250 OPS) with 16 2Bs and 14 HRs.

All Panhandle Conference performer for the Dores last season. Struck out a whopping 15.2 per 9 to lead the state of Florida (min 35 IP).

Uncommitted Sophomore LHP Carter Ward has put together a dominant fall. 0.00 ERA 0.63 WHIP 8 IP 3 H 0 R 2 BB 15 K 47% 6% BB 2 outlier breaking balls that have given RHH’s just as much trouble as LHH’s this fall.
