Gaza Families Face Hunger Shortfall Months After Ceasefire

Even months after the 2025 ceasefire, Gaza sees only about 200 aid trucks daily instead of the needed 600, leaving two-thirds of the population in crisis-level food insecurity. The World Food Programme cut rations, dropping recipients from 1.6 million to 1.1 million and hot meals from 250,000 to 150,000 daily due to funding shortages. Hamas calls Israel's policy 're-starving' and urges an Arab League meeting, while aid groups report overwhelming demand and some online posts question the crisis severity amid personal pleas for basics like milk and diapers.
🟢 Hamas is calling on the Arab League to hold an emergency meeting to confront Israel's policy of "re-starving" Gaza's population. Hamas spokesman Hazem Qassem urged groups and movements across the Arab world to "take action on the ground" and pressure all parties to stop the starvation of Palestinians in Gaza.
He said Israel's renewed starvation policy cannot continue "amid the silence of the concerned parties."
The call comes as Israel lets in about 34% of the 600 aid trucks a day required under the ceasefire, according to a report the Palestinian side prepared for the truce's mediators. The UN's World Food Programme has also cut food aid to 500,000 people in Gaza over funding shortages.

Why are people desperate for a bag of bread after the closure of borders for a few days only? Here’s what the international media is NOT telling you:
- The military occupation allows a maximum of 200 trucks in per day, instead of the 600 minimum needed. So what enters is barely enough for two million people for a few days.
- A lot of the trucks entering have luxury items instead of basic needs like chocolate, instant noodles, fizzy drinks and coal! Rebuilding material, medical equipment, and caravans are prohibited.
- Palestinians in Gaza can’t store much food because there are no fridges or freezers, and due to the lack of space in tents.
- HUGE reduction of community kitchens and food packages from international organizations like WFP and WCK, and the alleged reason is lack of funds.
- Around 90% of Palestinians in Gaza don’t have consistent income and rely fully on community kitchens to survive.
- The military occupation facilitates war profiteering and theft by the militias at the yellow line who steal tents and tarps, and sell them for high prices. Also some traders store tents and wait till it rains to sell at higher prices.
The fact that a video like this is emerging from Gaza in its fourth year in genocide is a testament to our failure. Each and every one of us outside the Gaza Strip holds responsibility towards this horrific scene.
