Fatima al-Bayouk, Gaza's Sole Family Survivor, Dies from Shooting
2026-10-25T22:07:55Z
Fatima survived two days under rubble when an Israeli airstrike destroyed her family's home in Khan Younis in December 2023, killing her parents, baby sister Leen, and three-year-old brother Asaad. She lived with her grandmother in Deir al-Balah until Israeli forces shot her on al-Mazraa Street east of there; she died from her wounds days later. Her death, as the last of her immediate family, underscores the ongoing human toll in Gaza amid reports of multiple fatalities despite a late 2025 ceasefire.
Eight-year-old child Fatima Hisham al-Bayouk, the sole survivor of her family, has been killed by Israeli gunfire in central Gaza.
In December 2023, Fatima was pulled alive from the rubble of her family’s home in Khan Younis after spending two days trapped beneath it. An Israeli airstrike had killed her parents and siblings.
Since then, she had been living with her grandmother in Deir al-Balah. Fatima died from wounds sustained after being shot by Israeli forces east of the city.

🇵🇸💢 “We came to rebuild our country, the country they destroyed. Why are they attacking us here too?”: Israel strikes Gaza university twice, killing three
Israeli strikes hit the campus of the Islamic University in western Gaza City twice on Sunday, less than four hours apart, killing three university security guards and wounding several others, including students.
“Today, we were studying in class, minding our business, while the professor was explaining. Suddenly, an airstrike hit directly beneath us, a massive explosion,” Mohammed Qandil, an engineering student, told Drop Site’s Abdel Qader Sabbah.
Qandil said he was attending a physics lecture when the strike hit directly beneath the classroom. “We came here to learn and get an education. We came to rebuild our country, the country they destroyed and devastated. Why are they attacking us here too?”
“All we're asking for is our right to education, nothing more. We don't want anything else. We just want our right to education.”

Today is day 1,114 of Israel’s genocide of the Palestinians.
🔴 “I just want my dad.”
Israeli forces struck the Islamic University in western Gaza City twice within four hours, killing three university security guards and wounding several others, including students.
Footage from Drop Site contributor Abdel Qader Sabbah shows grieving families at Al-Shifa Hospital saying goodbye to the three men. Relatives wept over their bodies and embraced one another.
“It can't be my dad. Is it my dad? My dad is gone. I want to see him,” a young boy cried. “I know, but I just want my dad.”
“Every day, every single day, we find martyrs, bombardment, and oppression. It's a deceptive ceasefire. The war has not stopped. Israeli brutality has not stopped,” Umm Rami Deeb told Drop Site.
Asked whether the increase in Israeli strikes was intended to win votes ahead of Israel's elections in two days, Deeb said she believed that was the aim. “One day, [Netanyahu] will be made to answer for what he has done to us, God willing.”

Isr*el killed 8 year-old Fatima Hisham al-Bayook, the last surviving member of her family. 💔
Fatima succumbed to her injuries after being struck by gunfire east of Deir al-Balah, Gaza, just days ago. Despite desperate pleas for her urgent medical evacuation in the hope of saving her life, she could not be saved.
Her mother and two younger siblings had already been killed in an Isr*eli strike on 13 December 2023. Her siblings were Leen, a baby less than a year old, and Asaad, just three years old.
Fatima was all that remained of her family. Now, she is gone too.
A mother. Three children. An entire family erased from one another’s lives. An 8 year-old girl who had already lost everyone she loved, and whose own life has now been taken.
At least 8 Palestinian people were killed by the israelis since dawn in Gaza: Hani Mahmoud said bodies were reduced to pieces of flesh
Yes, mainstream media does cover up for Israel’s crimes against Palestinians. That’s why we must keep amplifying firsthand reporting from Gaza.
Today, I shared a summary of Israeli attacks that killed eight people. It barely got any attention.
What are people waiting for? Another horrifying video of a child watching their mother burn alive? When the video of Mariam Ghanem emerged, nearly every page shared her story. Yet several children have been killed since, with barely any coverage.
Why must Palestinian suffering reach unimaginable levels of horror before it gets attention? Isn’t that the very pattern we criticize mainstream media for?
Palestinians should not have to die in the most horrific ways for their lives to matter.
Please keep amplifying news from Gaza, whether it’s a home blown up in northern Gaza, a child shot in the foot, or a family burned alive at night.

Video 1: of the Israeli bombing of Islamic university in Gaza city.
"Overnight, Israeli forces fatally shot Fatmeh al-Buyuk, aged eight, in Deir al-Balah in the central Gaza Strip, al-Quds and Al Jazeera reported. The girl was reportedly the last surviving member of her family."

_ I don't see anyone talking about the occupation bombing a university in Gaza in broad daylight while it was full of students today.
Two Israeli strikes targeted students and security guards at the Islamic University in Gaza City, killing three Palestinians and injuring at least seven others, as Israel continues its attacks on the enclave despite the so-called US-backed ceasefire.

That foreign nation kills kids:
Eight-year-old Fatima Al-Bayouk, the sole survivor of her family after an Israeli bombing destroyed their home in late 2023, was killed by Israeli gunfire in Deir Al-Balah, central Gaza.
Today, three Palestinians were martyred and at least seven were injured in two separate Israeli airstrikes that targeted the campus of the Islamic University of Gaza.
Heartbreaking but alas we have no tears for her, only those who are housed, who are fed, whose families are safe, yet are terrified of the thought of Fatima and other young Gazans growing up.
