Being a follower of Jesus requires intentionality. That's why I wrote Next Step Devotions, a collection of 366 daily discipleship lessons based on passages from every New Testament chapter. Each devotion ends with a suggested next step for growth.
There are six editions, with options for signed or unsigned print copies or Kindle electronic format. The devotional content is the same across editions except for the Bible translation quoted, so most users can select an edition that quotes their favorite Bible translation:
Purchase Option 1:
Unsigned print copies on Amazon ($10):
- The New International Version (NIV) edition - bit.ly/nextstepniv
- The English Standard Version (ESV) edition - bit.ly/nextstepesv
- The New Living Translation (NLT) edition - bit.ly/nextstepnlt
- The King James Version (KJV) edition - bit.ly/nextstepkjv
- The Christian Standard Bible (CSB) edition - bit.ly/nextstepcsb
- The New American Standard Bible (NASB) edition - bit.ly/nextstepnasb
Purchase Option 2:
Kindle electronic editions on Amazon ($2.99). Use the free Kindle phone or PC app for ready access, making use of the search feature to quickly find topics of interest:

If Christians don’t vote, non-Christians will
If Christians don’t vote, Muslims will
If Christians don’t vote, Communists will
If Christians don’t vote, Socialists will
If Christians don’t vote, abortion voters will
If Christians don’t vote, LGBT voters will
If Christians don’t vote, it doesn’t make us more holy—it just takes Christ out of the voting booth

If you're not voting Republican because the candidate “isn't good enough,” you will not:
- Teach the GOP a lesson
- Lower gas prices
- Get a more Christian nation
But you will:
- Get a worse candidate next time
- Lose the local races
- Give people who hate you more power

So what you’re saying is win or lose, you’re a bunch of violent lunatics? Thanks for clarifying. We weren’t quite sure.
My friend, Raleigh Sadler, founded the non-profit Let My People Go @LMPGnetwork, authored the book "Vulnerable: Rethinking Human Trafficking," and hosts the weekly @MercyCastpod podcast. Today's LMPG newsletter was so good that I had to ask permission to republish it as a blog post. It's about "5 Ways to Love Your Neighbor Through Addiction" — something that touches all of us in one way or another. I encourage you to read it and to follow all of Raleigh's wonderful resources.

I do several things when making major decisions. I make pros and cons lists. I talk with trusted family, friends, and advisors. I pray. I ponder. I sleep on it. Sometimes I listen to the voice inside me that says, "When in doubt, don't."
Here's a blog post I wrote about dealing with doubt in making decisions. I'd love for you to read it and then comment on the blog about your decision-making. I'm sure we can learn from each other.

An estimated ~8M Christians just in Texas are projected not to vote during midterms.
That election will be decided by a projected ~300k votes.
Pastors, consider encouraging your people to vote real quick in announcements next couple weeks.
A) They want you to
B) They are the "salt of the earth", a preservative slowing societal decay.
Talarico would vote to take away your kids and transition them, not just in Texas, but nationwide.
Pure evil.
Every word is James Talarico’s.
27 clips. 4 minutes. 2019–2026.
“God is non-binary.”
“…many more than two biological sexes. In fact, there are six.”
“If you deny your child’s gender identity… it’s abusive for sure.”
“There’s only one person who can determine a child’s gender identity, and that’s the child.”
“I want to acknowledge that our trans community needs abortion care too.”
“…the bill that would have denied gender-affirming health care to trans children… All these ideologies stem from this Christofascism movement.”
“The way I fought for trans kids in the legislature is how I will fight for the U.S. Senate, and my position hasn’t changed.”
“Prophetic voices like Jesus have helped me reckon with my own whiteness.”
“It’s always rich to me that defund the police is considered off limits…”
“Prison is violence.”
“Tear down this secret police force.”
Assault weapons ban? “Absolutely.”
Send this to 10 Texas voters and tell them to vote today.
I read R. C. Sproul's "The Holiness of God" for the first time last spring. First published in 1985, it is one of Sproul's most famous books, and deservedly so. Here is my review of it. I heartily recommend it to all believers and even to skeptics who aren't convinced a holy God exists.

The fact that the left in America is still trying to convince us that the riots in France are nothing more than student protests over old school buildings really should tell us everything we need to know about their willingness to lie about literally anything.

Word-saturated corporate worship:
• Sing the Word: music
• Hear the Word: readings
• Pray the Word: prayers
• Preach the Word: sermon
• See the Word: ordinances

I love teaching the Bible. I've been doing it since late high school. My current teaching through all 150 Psalms has made me realize that there's always a trade-off between breadth, depth, and time. I finally put these thoughts in black and white in this blog post. If you teach or participate in a Bible study, you may find something helpful to ponder here.
