This is not the consensus amongst cryptographers - sure, there might be some who think this, but to say that ECC is *likely* to break is definitely not the consensus. There is absolutely no evidence to support this statement. Likewise, to say that symmetric is more secure.
Nillion has just received a KRW pairing on Upbit!

They’re less likely to be backdoored, but reproducing P-256’s coefficients only proves how they were generated, not that the designers didn’t search through candidate seeds to select a curve with a hidden weakness - I’ll be sticking with k1 and Edwards25519.
the choice of secp256k1 over r1 (P-256) in bitcoin (and ethereum) was heavily influenced by the fear of an NSA backdoor. this has been very annoying for wallet developers because the secure enclave chips found in most consumer devices only support r1. passkeys use r1 as well.
turns out there is no backdoor after all... amazing work by anthropic.

PSA: this is referring to shutting down legacy blind computer infrastructure.
Which is no longer needed with Covenants.
Covenants/Encrypted Markets are at L1.
You now stake and earn rewards on L1.
Covenants are the future of $NIL.
wtf was that post from @nillion?
they announced they were shutting down, posted a sloppy tutorial on how to withdraw funds, then deleted the post an hour later
a failed marketing attempt, or did they get hacked?
Anthropic vibe-coded its way out of Git and into a proprietary, always-online, centralized mess, then called losing 20 years of distributed-systems learnings an architectural breakthrough.
Intelligence != Wisdom.
New on our Engineering blog: Creating in-house source control.
In May, we merged around 2,500 code changes per day. In September, we merged more than 30,000 per day. As a result, we became bottlenecked by developer infrastructure built for human (rather than agent) scale.
Here, we share how we built a new version control system—and fully migrated our monorepo from git—in five months: anthropic.com/engineering/re…

And the ALGO CTO just jumped ship. 🤯
I’m proud to announce that @bmartins_ will be joining the @nillion team as CTO, to help drive the development of Covenants and encrypted markets!
Bruno is a brilliant engineer who brings unparalleled experience building distributed systems and in applied cryptography.

Ledger Flex sold at Singapore Airport confirmed to contain a spy implant!
@BenYorke found suspicious marks on his @Ledger and sent it to me rather than using it, that was probably the best decision here.

I have a $300 @Ledger Flex that I bought from the Singapore airport in summer (Metapod, should be fine?)
I never plugged it in but it looks like theres some scratches on the casing, an indication of potential tampering?
Anyways theres no way i can trust it (or Ledger) now
> I think we might lose public key cryptography.
> I’m not worried about all public-key cryptography.
What a great way to whip up panic for normal people.
Replying to @matthew_d_green
Third: the tweet was written quickly. I’m not worried about all public-key cryptography, or PKC in principle. I’m worried about standardized public-key encryption (and some signatures) and specifically the fact that most of it is based on a small number of hard problems. 3/
