STRONG WORDS Lewis Hamilton was vocal over team radio during the race about his experience with Charles Leclerc on the first lap, where both drivers left the track, with the latter emerging ahead. After the race, Lewis chose his words carefully, saying that most of the conversations needed to happen offline. However, he did make it clear that there were discussions to be had within the Ferrari camp. #f1 #f1news #mexicogp

NO ESCAPE The Red Bull team celebrated their victory with the traditional team photo outside the garage. Well accustomed to the protocol that follows these group celebrations, Max Verstappen was quick to his feet to make a dash for it, hoping to escape the airborne champagne. His efforts were in vain, however, and he was soon thoroughly soaked.

MAXICO Max Verstappen was in high spirits during the post-race press conference, having taken the top step of the podium in Mexico City for the sixth time. Speaking about the race and the circuit, the four-time World Champion joked that the weekend should be renamed ‘Maxico Grand Prix’. Clearly, he's rather fond of this circuit. #f1 #f1news #mexicogp

LETTING IT SOAK IN As the podium celebrations came to an end, Kimi Antonelli took a moment to sit on the podium and look over his title-winning car, adorned with the Italian flag. The emotion of the moment clearly caught up with him. After everything it took to get here, he finally had a chance to take it all in. #f1 #f1news #mexicogp

THE APPRENTICE AND THE MASTER Lewis Hamilton left Mercedes as the team's most successful driver, making way for their young junior driver, Kimi Antonelli, to step into the seat. Today, the two stood together on the podium. One a seven-time World Champion who helped define an era for Mercedes, the other the young talent entrusted with carrying that legacy forward in a new era. #f1 #f1news #mexicogp

A MOMENT FOR MAX All eyes are quite rightly on Kimi Antonelli today, but it was of course Max Verstappen on the top step. The four-time World Champion was sensational off the line, producing a brilliant opening lap that set him on course for victory. And there's a little piece of history in there too, Max has now won from P5 for the first time in his career. #f1 #f1news #mexicogp

GENERATIONAL Three World Champions shared the podium today, and that's not something you get to see every day. Two of F1's greats stood alongside the sport's newest hero, Kimi Antonelli, taking the young Italian under their wing on what is sure to be a day he'll remember forever. A special moment for Kimi, with a combined 12 World Championships between the three of them. Incredibly fitting. #f1 #f1news #mexicogp

AN OPENING THRILLER Max Verstappen made a great start on his medium tyres, but the same can't be said for George Russell, who finds himself down in fifth at the end of lap one. Charles Leclerc has taken the lead from Lewis Hamilton, although he did so off the track. Max Verstappen is sandwiched between the two Ferraris, setting up an intriguing battle at the front. #f1 #formula1 #mexicogp

FROM ONE CHAMP TO AN ABOUT-TO-BE CHAMP Lando Norris and Kimi Antonelli shared a hug before the race, a nice moment between the reigning champion and the driver closing in on the title. It may not have been the title defence Lando would have hoped for, but he's remained supportive of Kimi throughout his championship charge, both in the paddock and when speaking to the media. #f1 #formula1 #mexicogp

PIERRE'S MEXICAN STYLE Pierre Gasly arrived in the paddock this morning wearing a Lucha Libre mask and a Mexico-themed button-up shirt. It's not the first time Pierre has embraced this look, either. 2023 springs to mind, when he arrived in a very similar outfit. TALK STILL ONGOING Alex Albon arrived at the circuit this morning with Lily. He'll start today's race from P16, with Fernando Alonso lining up just behind him in P17. The pair made contact on the opening lap in Austin, and Fernando's comments after the race prompted plenty of discussion during the post-race period and throughout this weekend's media duties. Alex was asked about the possibility of another coming together and said: “Hopefully we don’t cross corners or paths in the race this weekend.” With both drivers starting close together, it'll be interesting to see how things unfold today. #f1 #formula1 #mexicogp

GIVE HIM HIS FLOWERS George Russell was presented with a traditional marigold this morning, in keeping with the Mexican Día de los Muertos tradition. In Mexican folklore, marigolds carry the energy of the sun. Keeping one in your home is believed to ward off negative energy, purify the space and invite warmth, positivity and spiritual light. Warding off negative energy is certainly something George has had to do throughout this campaign. Having entered the season as the clear favourite, he's faced a run of bad luck and setbacks, yet has remarkably managed to keep his composure. He's handled the disappointments with a huge amount of grace, even as it looks nailed on that his teammate will pip him to the title. #f1 #formula1 #mexicogp

THE BIG DAY? Kimi Antonelli is odds on to win what could be the first of many World Drivers' Championships today. A finish of ninth or higher will be enough to secure the title. Even if he finishes 10th or lower, he could still be crowned champion, provided neither Lewis Hamilton nor George Russell wins the race. Both of the British drivers start ahead of him. Kimi arrived at the circuit this morning accompanied by his sister Maggie and the rest of his family. It could be a very special day for the young Italian. #f1 #f1news #mexicogp
