Hollywood’s next mega-merger just cleared a major hurdle — but what does Los Angeles get in return?
Paramount and Warner Bros. have cleared a major hurdle in their proposed $110 billion merger.
California Attorney General Rob Bonta announced that 12 states reached a settlement with Paramount, ending their antitrust challenge if approved by a federal judge.
The agreement includes conditions protecting Hollywood production, theatrical releases, workers and editorial independence. A separate lawsuit from the Writers Guild of America remains ongoing.

BREAKING: Paramount has reportedly reached a settlement with the 12 states fighting its $110 billion Warner Bros. merger, clearing a major roadblock to the deal. The agreement reportedly includes independent boards to protect CNN and CBS news coverage, plus a promise to release 30 movies a year.

Durk’s defense team has requested a bond hearing following his most recent trial, where he was acquitted on all five charges relating to alleged stalking and a murder-for-hire plot.
The bond hearing has been requested for Nov. 4, 2026.
Durk was previously set to face a second trial on Oct 5, where he is accused of running a criminal enterprise that led to Saviay’a Robinson’s death. This most recent hearing request suggests Durk’s new trial will not begin in October and will be pushed to a future date.
