Reconciliation starts long before someone checks a final balance.
Take a simple institutional flow:
A business sends stablecoins, converts into local currency and settles the proceeds to an approved bank account.
There are several things that have to stay connected through that process.
The amount received has to match the original instruction.
The conversion has to reflect the agreed rate and expected local-currency amount.
The payout has to go to the approved destination.
And the final settlement record has to match what actually arrived.
If any one of those points is off, “payment successful” does not tell the operations team enough. They need to know where the difference appeared.
Was it at funding?
Was it during conversion?
Was it in the payout?
Or does the settlement record simply not match the underlying movement?
That is why Ledig’s operating flow does not end at settlement.
Receive → Hold → Convert → Pay or Settle → Reconcile
The point is to keep the financial movement connected from the first instruction to the final record, so the business can trace what happened at each stage instead of trying to reconstruct it afterwards across separate systems.
For institutions moving between stablecoins and local currency, that connection between liquidity, conversion, settlement and reconciliation is a big part of the infrastructure itself.

There is a part of moving money that does not get talked about enough: deciding where it is actually allowed to go.
A wallet address can be valid. A bank account can exist. That still does not mean either should automatically become a settlement destination.
Once a business is handling real transaction volume, especially across different currencies, bank accounts and wallets, destination control starts to matter a lot more. The question is no longer just “will this payment go through?” It is also “has this destination actually been reviewed and approved for us to send money there?”
That is where operations and compliance meet.
Screening a destination, approving it and keeping that approval separate from simply entering an account or wallet helps create a clearer boundary around where funds can move. It reduces the chance of operational mistakes, but it also means compliance controls are part of the settlement process rather than something bolted on afterwards.
That is why approved accounts and whitelisted wallets are part of Ledig’s settlement flow.
It is not the part of financial infrastructure people usually talk about first. But when real money is moving, knowing where it is allowed to go matters just as much as moving it quickly.

API integration should remove steps, not just add another endpoint.
For businesses already managing stablecoins, local currencies and cross-border settlement, Ledig’s API lets those financial workflows sit inside the product or treasury system they already use.
Instead of manually moving between platforms, an institution can connect supported Ledig infrastructure directly into its own workflow for things like:
• stablecoin and fiat conversion
• institutional liquidity
• local-currency settlement
• approved wallet and account flows
• treasury operations
A typical integration starts with the business defining the currencies, assets, settlement routes and liquidity requirements it needs. Once the relevant setup is approved, its system can interact with the Ledig infrastructure programmatically.
So a payment company, exchange or financial platform can build its own customer experience while Ledig handles the underlying financial workflow that has been enabled for that business.
The benefit is not simply “access to an API.”
It is being able to connect liquidity, conversion and settlement into the product you are already building.

BASE BATCHES 004 TEAM:
LEDiG (@LEDiG_Tech) is building onchain FX hedging and stablecoin–fiat liquidity infrastructure on Base.
Stablecoin liquidity across 32 countries, focused on corridors in Africa and other emerging markets.
Stablecoins are scaling quickly, but every new rail exposes the infrastructure around it.
If they became the default cross-border rail tomorrow, where do you think the first real bottleneck would show up?

1) The stablecoin transfer may be becoming the easiest part of the transaction.
Coinbase Institute’s latest research on stablecoins in emerging markets highlights something we think is increasingly important:
Moving value onchain is only one layer of the financial infrastructure businesses actually need. 🧵
10) This is where the stablecoin conversation becomes bigger than payments.
If more assets, obligations and contracts move onchain, institutions will still need:
liquidity to enter and exit positions,
FX between currencies,
local settlement,
treasury infrastructure,
and risk management around future exposures.
11) The larger takeaway for us is that stablecoin adoption is only one layer of the opportunity in emerging markets.
The harder infrastructure problems increasingly sit around the stablecoin itself.
Liquidity.
FX.
Local settlement.
Treasury.
Risk management.
That is what turns an asset that can move globally into financial infrastructure institutions can actually use.

When FX breaks otherwise good economics
A thread on why currency risk can undermine otherwise sound businesses, projects and investments in emerging markets, and why we’re building Ledig Options around American-style options👇
9) Better hedging infrastructure does not make an emerging market risk-free.
It does not remove credit risk, political risk, business risk or execution risk.
It addresses something narrower: the possibility that a currency move overwhelms the economics of an otherwise sound business, payment flow, project or investment.
If that exposure can be isolated, priced and hedged, institutions can make clearer decisions about the underlying opportunity.
That can matter for trade, payments, corporate expansion, treasury management and ultimately capital allocation.
10) That is the broader idea behind Ledig Options.
Emerging-market FX volatility is not going away.
The goal is to make that exposure something businesses and institutions can price, hedge and manage, rather than simply absorb.
