I love this perspective from Pawan Bangar, Founder & CEO of Birbals Inc. You can't build a company by doing everything yourself. You have to trust people, let them make mistakes, and help them grow. That's leadership. 🚀 New episode out now! @Who_wehire

best people to work with are: - extremely proactive - low ego / eager for feedback - high ownership / agency - say "we" instead of "me" - also fun

Two hiring mistakes worth watching out for: 1. Choosing people because they're just like us 2. Just checking three references... I still consider that advice from my conversation with Annmarie Neal, Chief Talent Officer at Cisco. What a great episode of @who_wehire.

Here's a question that might make any CEO uncomfortable: Are you still the right person to lead your company into the future? 👀 I loved this perspective from my talk with Meg Bear, former President of SAP SuccessFactors. She shared some great insights! @who_wehire

Stephen knows it’s all about the taste
AI helps marketers create content, analyze data, and make faster decisions. But can it replace human creativity? Stephen Banbury, VP of Marketing at ClearlyRated, shares why AI skills matter and why human taste is not replaceable.

"AI has no taste" Stephen Banbury, VP of Marketing at ClearlyRated shared some great insights with me. The tools matter, but so does the human creative spark. He also en makes a bold prediction: marketers who use AI will replace those who don’t. @who_wehire

Can you teach someone to be curious or humble? That’s one of the questions I explored with Jeff Gothelf in our latest episode. We also talked about a simple interview question that can reveal a lot about a candidate. Watch it now @who_wehire

The best people I've hired had no experience in the role. They won on execution.

Community is the moat
the moat is the people we've met along the way

How do you know someone can actually do the job, and not just interview well? 👀 I talked about this with Michael Grinberg, founder and CEO of the RevOps and sometimes you need to see candidates in action! Full episode on @who_wehire

60k buybacks 🤯
$MSFT offers 60,000 employees a voluntary exit. 60K Y’all!! First time this has ever been offered at Microsoft and it will affect employees in India, The United States, Canada, and the UK at level 70 or below… Employees find out in a few hours if they are being targeted for this. This just makes me think that H127 layoffs sound intense. Is this a pre-layoff round? Also makes me wonder if they changed some scheduled layoffs due to be called out by @VP. Peace offering? 🤔 Timing is just interesting. More to come.

Really enjoyed this conversation with Jeff Gothelf! We talked about hiring, curiosity, and what makes teams truly successful. Hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed recording it! Coming this Tuesday.
Would you hire the most talented person in the room, or the person who makes the whole team better? @jboogie author of Lean UX and Forever Employable, believes curiosity and humility are among the most important qualities to look for when hiring. We explore this and more in our new episode of Who We Hire, coming Tuesday! @LuizCent #WhoWeHire #Hiring #Leadership #TalentAcquisition #Teamwork

10x more code, 10x more revenue? If only business worked that way! 😂 I had a great conversation with @MegBear about the real cost of AI and why more productivity doesn't automatically mean more money. So, are we measuring AI's output or its actual impact? @who_wehire

One idea that stuck with me from my talk with @yonitseru, co-founder and CEO of Lusha: “We’re all builders again.” AI is changing the playbook. How do you hire people who can thrive when there is no playbook? New episode live now! @who_wehire

Sales is one of the hardest roles to hire for because the skills that matter most aren't always easy to spot in an interview or a résumé. John Betancourt, shared a rule I found interesting: never hire a salesperson without referrals. Would you follow that rule? @who_wehire

Managing performance and developing potential aren't the same thing. @Mallikarjunan, VP at Pearl, makes a great point: managers need to understand where people want to go, not just how they're doing today. Full conversation on @who_wehire

I like this distinction from @hnshah CEO of Crazy Egg.: you can like someone and still not be the right fit for how your team works. When we hire, are we evaluating how people actually operate, or just how well we connect with them in an interview? @who_wehire

Maybe the best hiring strategy is to become the place people never want to leave! Joe Walsh, CEO of Thryv, shared with me how the company grew its team in the Dominican Republic from 88 to 788 people. To learn more, listen to the full episode. @who_wehire
