Should AI say sorry with a joke? We tested it. The answer is no 🙂↔️
We tested 5 tones across 3 error severities (from a failed file conversion to a wrong hotel booking). The clear winner: sincere, direct, accountable. Humor came in last, every time.
These findings from MacPaw AI & Research were presented at NordiCHI '26, and are already shaping how Eney by MacPaw communicates.

That's a wrap on our night at Boston AI Week. Two talks, one full room, and a mixer that didn't want to end.
Thank you, Boston — we'll be back with more soon 👋
Special thanks to everyone who joined, and to the speakers who made it worth showing up for: @HirnaMariya, @Maxim_Kotliar, @alay0shah @liquidai and Anna Zapaishchykova PhD.
