Did you know? Constitution Hill holds a significant place in LGBTQIA+ history and activism in South Africa. It was here that the Immorality Amendment Act of 1969 was enforced, resulting in the incarceration of many men under laws that criminalised same-sex relationships. Today, this very space represents freedom, equality, inclusion and celebration. Through events, educational programmes and exhibitions, Constitution Hill creates opportunities to reflect on our painful past, celebrate progress and inspire meaningful change for a more equal future. From a history of discrimination to a space that champions human rights, Constitution Hill reminds us why the fight for equality, dignity and freedom for all must continue. #PrideMonth #VisitConHill #LGBTQIAHistory #humanrights4all
