You’ve got to ask: what the hell is going on? Are we heading for doomsday? Take a breath. The Binance incident is still being investigated, and the emergency-preparedness advice varies by country. Former SWIFT CEO Gottfried Leibbrandt is joining stablecoin infrastructure firm OpenTrade as chairman. The move follows OpenTrade’s $17 million raise, announced in May, to expand its stablecoin yield platform. Traditional finance experience is moving deeper into crypto’s payments and yield infrastructure. Stablecoins are becoming a serious business.

AI-assisted research has uncovered three Bitcoin Core bugs, including one that could crash nodes on Windows, macOS and BSD. It did not let attackers steal bitcoin, and Linux nodes weren’t affected by that specific flaw. Patched versions are already available: 29.5, 30.4, 31.2 and 32.1. The U.S. Treasury Secretary just made the case for crypto in one sentence: Digital assets could help keep the dollar on top. Stablecoins spread dollar access. Their reserves can support demand for Treasuries. And Washington now sees crypto as part of the global tech race. Crypto isn’t just a market anymore. It’s infrastructure.
