Thrilled and honored to be named a Top Industry Analyst for 2026 by @thinkers360. As a hands-on tech practitioner who only became an analyst a little over two years ago, this means a lot to me. The team at Thinkers360 use a patented algorithm that measures authentic, cross-platform authority across published research, books, podcasts, and media.
I share this award with analyst friends Stephanie Atkinson, MBA, Shashi Bellamkonda, Jason Bloomberg, Steven Dickens, Jeff KAGAN, Michael Krigsman, David Linthicum, Maribel Lopez, Daniel Newman, Jo Peterson, Tom Raftery, Shira Rubinoff✔, Will Townsend, Mark Vena, Helen Yu, and Ronald van Loon. You're all amazing!

@Apple finally folds, but the iPhone Duo doesn’t get a free pass just because it wears an Apple logo. In my @TechNewsWorld review, I explore why Apple’s first foldable impresses and where the compromises complicate the pitch. The real question is whether the excitement outweighs what you give up. Read my full review before deciding whether your next iPhone should bend.

A $500 billion warning makes a great headline, but it isn’t a settled bill. As I told @TechNewsWorld, Verizon’s estimate deserves scrutiny as “an incumbent’s worst case, not a proven price tag.” SpaceX could launch meaningful competition in two to three years, although matching established carriers nationwide is a much bigger lift. The real disruption could come sooner by forcing carriers to sharpen pricing, improve coverage, and stop treating dead zones as the customer’s problem.

Do you know what these privacy notifications mean?
A green dot means an app is using your camera. An orange dot means it's using your microphone. A blue arrow means something is using your location. They sit at the top of your screen, they're easy to miss, and they're one of the simplest privacy tools you've got.
If you spot one when you're not expecting it, swipe down from the top right of your screen to open Control Centre and see which app is responsible. Sometimes the answer is perfectly sensible, like maps while you're navigating. Sometimes it's a torch app that has no business knowing where you are.
I think of this as part of the human firewall. Cyber security isn't only about software and policies, it's about people noticing when something doesn't look right, and a small coloured dot is well worth noticing.
When did you last check which apps can see, hear and locate you?

.@Cloudflare Declares the Agentic Internet Is Here
Cloudflare used their Connect 2026 event in San Francisco to argue that autonomous AI agents are becoming the Internet’s dominant users, and it positioned its global network as the place where those agents are identified, governed and able to pay for what they use.
For technology buyers and suppliers, the event signals that agent identity, access control and machine-to-machine payment are moving from experiments to purchasable infrastructure, which raises the stakes for the security, networking and application platform decisions made in the next planning cycle.

Two weeks ago Infineon moved silicon carbide to 200 mm wafers. Now it’s gallium nitride on 300 mm. The two materials do different jobs. SiC handles high-voltage work in EVs and the grid. GaN fits the power supplies inside AI server racks, where every point of efficiency cuts the power and cooling bill.
The test is the same as last time. If yields hold by 2027, the cost story gets real.

AI’s next breakthrough needs more than smarter algorithms. It needs the silicon, power, sensors, and security to make it work.
In my latest SmartTechCheck EduSeries video, I take you inside @Infineon’s OktoberTech at the Computer History Museum in Mountain View. From AI data center power and physical AI to automotive innovation and edge computing, the event showed why semiconductor “ingredient” companies matter to the products we use every day.
My interview with #AdamWhite explores a critical question: How do we power AI’s growing ambitions? I also highlight standout demos and keynote insights connecting technology’s potential with practical engineering.
