A Texas billionaire is trying to take $250 million from a local school system to fund a hockey stadium.
Tom Gaglardi owns the Dallas Stars, and to build their new arena he wants to take money from Plano schools.
And that's after getting a separate $700 million in public funds.

There are 100 billionaires who own houses in Aspen. They all pay the same tax rate as my client who sold her late husband's wedding band to pay off medical debt because she had nothing else left, as the teachers living counties away from where they work because they can't afford to live closer, as working families across this state struggling to pay the bills. It doesn't need to be this hard. We don't need to be living this way. We deserve a graduated income tax, and this is the year we can make it happen. Vote yes on 87.
In Colorado a minimum wage worker pays the same state income tax as someone making a billion dollars, 4.4%.
But on November 3, voters could approve an amendment that would reduce taxes for anyone making under $500,000 a year, and raise taxes on the rich.
The amendment would raise $2 billion for Coloradans' healthcare and schools annually.
North Dakota could be the next state to pass universal school lunches.
The state went for Trump by 37% in 2024, but next week voters will be able to directly choose to feed kids at school.
Supporters say it's not a liberal or conservative issue, but a human issue. And with prices going up and up, Measure 2 could change the lives of hungry kids.

Keep thinking about this now that Louisiana is scrambled. This was a 90/10 Trump parish we went to and at that point there was intense frustration with Trump over the buildout, seafood imports, etc. And this was shot before the war.
Nebraska US senate candidate and former strike leader Dan Osborn's closing ad invokes Bloody Harlan and the Pittston Coal strike while communist folk singer Pete Seeger's "Which Side Are You On?" plays.

Sam Forstag is building something special in Montana
Montana could unexpectedly elect a Democratic candidate next week.
The state has been going redder and redder in recent years, but wildland firefighter and union leader Sam Forstag has a real chance to get into Congress in just a few days.
People across Western Montana say Trump duped them, prices didn't go down, and across party lines voters look ready to rebuke Trump and the Republican Party.
"It doesn't matter what letter is behind their last name. It's whether or not they have working people in mind and they're gonna take care of us."

The greed and entitlement of billionaires is a main reason why they shouldn’t exist.
Sam Altman says its bad that everyone's personal computers are using the world's limited supply of memory chips.
"It’s quite terrible to have everybody have a bunch of the world’s limited supply of DRAMs sitting in their own computer, and being used 5% of the time. Like, you want maximum utilization."

Why is the supply limited Sam? Why is it so damn expensive in the first place SAM!?

SHOCK POLL: A new survey shows Democratic Louisiana candidate Jamie Davis tied 45%-45% with his Republican counterpart, despite being outspent 2-1.
We spoke with Davis. He told us data centers could be the issue that pushes him unexpectedly over the edge.

Data center outrage could flip the House next week.
In Wisconsin, Rebecca Cooke made the fight against data centers central to her campaign while residents worked to block the behemouth projects.
At the same time her Republican opponent is using AI slop and taking money from Elon Musk. And now being on the wrong side of the data center question could cost Rep. Van Orden his job.
Gambling is corroding sports at an unbelievable rate. This is extremely unhealthy for the game.
