How can #DeepTech innovations help power a more electrified future?
At the #NTUsg Tech Summit & Alumni Conference in Silicon Valley, NTU Vice President (Industry) Prof Shirley Meng explored the next frontier in #EnergyStorage, from sodium-ion batteries made with abundant elements to solid-state batteries with the potential to improve safety and design flexibility.
These advances could help meet the growing energy needs of electric vehicles, robotics and data centres.
But technology alone is not enough. Prof Meng sees universities as incubators for the next generation of innovators and entrepreneurs.
“It is my true belief that students are our real products. When we have successful students, we will have good companies and good products,” she said.

Big ideas. Meaningful conversations. A community shaping what’s next.
At the NTU Tech Summit & Alumni Conference in Silicon Valley, alumni, founders and industry leaders came together to explore the opportunities in #AI and #deeptech, and how research can translate into real-world impact.
#NTUsgAlumni #Entrepreneurship #Engineering
At the #NTUsg Tech Summit & Alumni Conference in Silicon Valley, NTU alumnus Irving Tan, CEO of WD (@wd_corporation), shared his perspective on how #AI is reshaping the #technology landscape and the infrastructure required to support it.
As AI scales, so does the volume and value of data it consumes and creates. Compute can be reused across workloads, but valuable data persists and compounds, creating new demands for how it is stored, managed and accessed over time.
In the AI world, #data is a competitive advantage. Realising that advantage will require infrastructure that can scale economically, reliably, and securely.
