Privacy in Everyday Life: when ASOS was breached in October, the stolen data included more than names and addresses.
It also included what customers had searched for on the site.
The attackers got in by tricking an employee and reached data held on a personalisation platform.

1/ Decoded: clean hands.
On a public blockchain, proving your funds are clean usually means showing where they came from, and that puts your whole financial history on display.
2/ A compliance check rarely needs all of that. It needs one answer: are these funds connected to anything they shouldn't be?
Cryptographic proofs can give that answer on their own, without revealing which payments, people or amounts sit behind it.

1/ Many decentralized apps are only decentralized up to the point where they call their backend.
The contracts are onchain and anyone can inspect them, while matchmaking, AI features and reward eligibility often run on an ordinary server.
2/ Users are asked to trust that the code on that server is the code the team described. ROFL, the Oasis framework for offchain logic, runs that code inside a TEE that proves exactly what it is running, and Sapphire verifies that proof onchain before the app can act.
Trivia is on tonight in the Oasis Discord at 21:00 CET ๐
Anyone can join and you don't need to prepare anything, though last week's winners would very much like someone to give them a challenge ๐
