1/3: After decades of serving families & educators, the board has voted to close @PortlandCM & Opal School. On what marks the Museum’s 75th anniversary & Opal's 20th anniversary, this was a heartbreaking decision.

3/3: We know from @childmuseums that most children’s museums are facing substantial losses. Public support from the CARES Act & other sources has not been enough to overcome obstacles.

Opal School has served more than 500 students & 10,000 educators, who in turn have reached one million children locally & globally. We are forever grateful to the vibrant playful learning community that continues to surround the organization.

Warmest wishes to our longtime colleagues and collaborators, @matt_karlsen and @sharrismackay, who started an exciting new project! Follow @playfulinquiry and sign up for the mailing list.
When it hit a year ago, we knew that the pandemic would be a portal, but we didn't know where it would take us. Now, we are launching a new project to build from the work we began at Opal School. Join our mailing list! bit.ly/CPIMail @matt_karlsen @sharrismackay

Thought for the day.. "knowing how to figure out what’s right is more important than being right."
