🚨 SBI debit cards and their use case
SBI allows 3 debit cards (2 physical and one virtual).
All of them have some use case:
1⃣ Wealth RSDC
RuPay vouchers, ATM withdrawals, lounge access, CC bill payments when I have to pay more than Rs 50k a day
2⃣ Visa Platinum
Took for Visa tap and pay 20% cashback offer but now using it for the Visa Platinum benefits, lounge access
3⃣ RuPay Virtual
Mainly for CC bill payments (till Rs 50k a day)
I want to take the Visa Infinite card mainly for the reason that I don't have an Infinite variant (DC or CC), so would have to forgo the Platinum DC.
🚨 JAL and ANA increase fuel surcharge
As posted below, there is ~25% increase in fuel surcharges
Fuel surcharges are over Rs 45k and total cash component is Rs 57.5k 😬
🚨 F1 Japanese GP - Free pass for kids of 16-23 years!
23 years can't be called kids still they are giving free tickets!
Kids born between April 12, 2003 to April 1, 2012 get free pass for 2 days (Thursday & Friday on F1 weekend)! 🔥
This is a great initiative though it is west area (huge spread out area and no grandstand seats)
- Thursday pit lane walk and home straight walk
- 2 days unlimited theme park access!
- Sprint qualifying (this is Sprint weekend)

Debit cards come and go but SBI is forever 💎
Been paying CC bills with SBI DCs for over 12 years 😀
There were better DCs that come and get devalued but SBI is the only constant.
There were times when SBI Exclusif (now Wealth) debit card used to give higher returns than even Infinia 😍
Last year, when Ashwin mentioned SBI, I felt it wasn’t worth opening yet another bank account for the same reason.
But over time, with other currencies continuing to depreciate, I eventually had to reactivate my dormant SBI account!
Rewards will start from now :)

⚠️ Beware of hard expiry miles
Singapore, Japan airlines, Turkish and Lufthansa miles expire if not used
From my experiences (mine as well as from consultations), there are miles that do come for expiry far more often
My Turkish miles are expiring this year and many have JAL expiration
Ultimately miles do expire or get used at a far poorer ratio
That’s why we need to be wary to transfer to Lufthansa if one isn’t having clear redemption plans even though it is group B

Interesting to see people closing cards in anticipation of Air India X SBI card
After 15+ years of credit card usage, we don’t have a lot of cards or apply for the sake of it
Even LTF cards or occasional usage cards are closed
I have 8 now which itself I feel is 1-2 cards more than required
Also concentration of spends on cards helps avoiding non-personal usage thing
