I grew up in that era. Graduated in 67. I protested so many causes over those years. Women's rights, Vietnam, and in my neck of the woods, David Duke and civil rights. And now here we are doing it again.

Remember Helen Reddy’s song “I Am Woman”? I graduated high school in 1971; signed up for the Navy 1972 but couldn’t go active til 1973. That song has been my anthem for decades! Time to reactivate it, I think!

I graduated a couple of years before you. We were angry, we marched and protested for our rights. We will not watch our children and grandchildren drug screaming back into the 50s. Gen Z has the same fire we carry for equality. We will roar together.

There was a time when women were to remain in the background and speak quietly among themselves when in mixed company. The year I graduated from high school (1972), Bella Abzug said “Women have been trained to speak softly and carry a lipstick. Those days are over.” But how far have we really moved the needle? We’ve made great progress but “we ain’t done yet”! And I don’t know about the rest of you, but I choose to yell!
