Today's show: How Big Tech Monopolies are Weaponizing AI Against Human Liberty youtu.be/qTQIqJiN-Hs I sit down with Michael McClellan, an attorney involved in litigation over alleged AI-related copyright infringement, to examine the legal, moral, and constitutional questions conservatives about AI chatbots conservatives cannot afford to ignore. We cover everything from Section 230 indemnity, how conservatives should approach liability and regulation, and the hypocritical gaslighting from the industry about the need to “beat China.”

U.S. gross federal debt amounts to about $300,000 per household. That exceeds median household net worth in every age group under 55.

We will see what ultimately happens with Dems cracking red America, but if you look at 2010, which was the terrible year for the Dems, despite all the GOP gains, it was mainly consolidating red America and doing very well in purple America. The only solid blue state they picked up was the Illinois Senate. The next level blue was Wisconsin and PA, which are more swing. For govs it was also almost all red states. They did win the governor's mansion in Maine and New Mexico. It will be an interesting comparison when determining whether this is just a bad midterm with a lousy economy or a model collapse of the GOP. That is essentially the question that will be decided if the polls are correct.

Also, if I remember correctly, while they did win one D+8 seat in Illinois, that was the deepest they conquered, and not much beyond D+4. So they picked up the two New Hampshire seats but nothing else in New England. The reason there was a 60+net is because Dems were over-extended from the 2006 wave of conservative Dems in rural districts plus the conservative districts that were stubborn to realign since 1994. And they also ran the table in most purple, swing areas. But if you look carefully, they barely scraped core blue America even in the best of years.

And few people in the younger generation know and most in the older generation forgot what caused this to begin with. And Republicans stupidly decided to own it as their own and not repeal it and do anything different.
Paying $4287.61/m for health insurance just to owe another $7,000 when you finally need a doctor doesn't feel like healthcare.

Homes in foreclosure just hit the highest level since early 2019. Up 37% in a year. Most people have no idea.

The original sin of the American health insurance crisis is that it has anything to do with one’s employer. If I were tasked to fix health insurance, the first thing I’d do is make it illegal for companies to offer health insurance as part of compensation.
Replying to @EconBerger
3/ The cost of employer contributions to health insurance is growing above 6%, the fastest pace in two decades.

Conservatives should own this issue, but alas....
Over $28,000 a year for family health insurance premiums, up from $6,000 in 1999. And that’s before deductibles, copays, and surprise bills. The system is fundamentally broken.

An Ohio farmer tears up talking about a data center being built next to her farm: “We're gonna see nothing but destruction. And I'm really sad about it.” 71% of Americans oppose data centers, yet politicians are approving them anyway because our government doesn’t work for us. It works for the owners of capital and until the people truly grasp this nothing will change. You cannot solve a problem unless you can first identify what the problem is, and the problem is the owners of capital have two parties that serve their interests and the people have zero! Yeah, no responsibility. That will end well.
🦔Delaware wants to let AI agents run companies on their own. Under the draft law, the agent could sign contracts and file lawsuits, and the person who owns the company would carry no responsibility for its harms unless they committed fraud or left it underfunded. Delaware’s Secretary of State has pitched it as a big boost to state revenue. House Oversight Chairman James Comer now wants to see how the plan came together. My Take Yeah, so companies already blame AI for layoffs they wanted anyway, and now they’d get to blame it in court too. Say the agent drains a customer’s account. You can sue the company, but you only get whatever money the owner left in it, and the owner gets to tell the judge a machine made the call. I don’t see who this helps besides the owners and Delaware (business fees pay for roughly a quarter of that state’s budget, so of course they’re interested). If it passes in January, I expect a rush of AI startups to file there. Hedgie🤗

If anything embodied the fight more than this!
Carroll County, Kentucky, residents play data center noise at a Fiscal Court meeting to make a point about the noise pollution they now live with. They are met with incredulous and condescending remarks.

Imagine if in all these states we ran independent candidates who would take the Dem grievances off the table? We would not only get a more conservative option but often serve as the only option to beat the Democrats. I promise you the longer we go avoiding the surgery, the worse it will get.
