Content networks shouldn't have to waste server cycles on automated scrapers.
@robertjacobi is at #PressConfEurope this week showing how to deploy a precise gatekeeper that blocks synthetic load while letting legitimate users in freely.
Could not be more proud of the accomplishment and what we will succeed at in the future! Thank you investors but more importantly, thank you partners, for expanding the best traffic management and security in the AI age!
We are thrilled to announce that we’ve raised $100 million at a valuation of $2.2 billion. This C Round was led by AVP, who joined existing investors @dawncapital, @MMC_Venturesa and @TeraVentures.
Can’t wait to chat with everyone post nTLD announcements last week.

Last week we've joined the Dutch community across two major events: NLNOG Day and Dag van de Nederlandse Cloud
@RobertJacobi took the stage on the latter to talk about the importance of seeing the traffic, understanding its intent and controlling what reaches the infrastructure

I was interviewed by @Clara_fHudson of the @WSJ about #Green #Gaming: wsj.com/business/energy-oil/…
please give it a read and my article about Green #Hosting on @Forbes_Agency: forbes.com/councils/forbesag…
Easy, $6 x 100 = $600 lol. Good luck getting that solved!
Replying to @GoDaddyHelp
@GoDaddyHelp @GoDaddyPro How did my SSL renewal go from $6 a year for the last three years (including one renewal period) to being charged $600 for two years without warning?

Tomorrow we close things out: a keynote from Amanda Ventura of @Waymo, then a fireside chat with @photomatt and @RobertJacobi. Don't miss it.
I didn’t even have time to put my @blackwall_com shirt on lol
And folks are arriving at #WCUS but let’s start with a calm street view @WordCampUS

We’re five days away from @WordCampUS!
The countdown is on, and the Automattic family can’t wait to reunite with friends old and new from the @WordPress community in Phoenix, Arizona. Will we see you at #WCUS?
Ok, finely feel like getting the rhythm down – and not doing a whole show with mute on 🤦♂️ – this week is going to be good. We just finished Monday and will have an episode every day through Thursday. Tomorrow (Tuesday) will be #WordPress day given that @WordCampUS will be a week away (well for the official start, but there is contributor day and showcase day). Stay tuned!
Don't miss today's Open Channels News with @RobertJacobi in 3 hours.

Very excited for the opportunity to have this discussion with @photomatt! Thank you very much @WordCampUS and looking forward to meeting all the folks at the event this year. If you haven’t registered yet please do!
Robert Jacobi and Matt Mullenweg will close WordCamp US 2026 with an open conversation about AI, the changing web, and what comes next for open source and WordPress. They end with a final 30 minutes for Q&A. Join the session in Phoenix on August 19. wp.me/pgSBpQ-25t
I haven't had a laptop in years, desktop at the home office (Mac Mini) but an iPad Pro on the road. I don't think AI is the differentiator, it's still about the human interface – which in my case is amazing battery, WIFI + mobile, security, and everything on the cloud. A lost or stolen iPad means it becomes deactivated and unusable immediately, a restore to a new iPad is trivial, and data loss/misuse is less of a concern. Yes a magic keyboard is attached. All things being equal, I'd rather have an iPad Pro than a laptop to worry about.
Will my MacPro be obsolete in less than a year? jasonnickerson.online/blog/t…

The conversations at JANOG58 last week consistently returned to one challenge: the shift from scale to command.
The discussions in Matsuyama reinforced that scaling blindly is no longer enough. Real resilience requires understanding traffic intent.

Traffic volume used to equal growth. Today, it might just mean a higher infrastructure bill.
We are heading to Online Retailer Conference in Sydney to discuss how e-commerce platforms can eliminate the invisible tax of automated traffic and regain control.
