A sneaky patch of clouds this morning gave us a nice treat to start the workweek! I personally am enjoying the earlier sunrises, but each day it creeps a little bit later

In its 55 editions, the New York City Marathon has never had a champion quite like Andreas Almgren, a 31-year-old Swede who reinvented himself after his career as an 800m runner fizzled out.
How he went from an unlikely marathon champ to inevitable:

New York City you beauty, I absolutely love you, every last person and step. 2 million people turned out to cheer 60,000 of us. I gave every kid a high five. I even found a tasty snack in Central Park. As I turned into Brooklyn a woman boomed out ‘@amnesty international, that’s what I’m talking about, welcome to Brooklyn!’ Thank you for seeing me through your five boroughs with your support and love. 💚🏃🗽

Heading down to Alphabet City and everyone, I mean literally everyone, is congratulating me on the 1 train and the bus. New Yorkers get so involved in this marathon, and it’s lovely. I had people shouting ‘go Amnesty International’ to me and giving me high fives on every single street.

Great end to the week
Today is a day that makes moving to NYC worth every penny
3 weeks til I can toe the line and couldn’t be more excited after watching countless friends get to show off their training with big races today
Respect as always

Just so you understand how insane that is - that's an average of 4:48 per mile - For 26.2 miles!!!!
In my life I've never run a sub-five minute mile.
This dude just did 26 of them back to back.
It's superhuman and impossible to comprehend.

Congrats @nycmarathon finishers! I ran it in 2022, 7 months after Beau was born. I wanted him to grow up knowing what his mom could do.

Crying instantly upon arriving at the marathon, as though I’m automatically connecting to a giant WiFi network of emotion, can’t be helped

That was awesome. Kelsie set her personal record in the @nycmarathon at 3:19:01. She ran by us on Mile 18 and we celebrated with family afterwards.

We absolutely did the damn thing today.
“Don’t run a world major if you want a PR,” they said.

THIRD TIMES A CHARM.

My youngest decided to try an Olympic Tri this morning. (mile swim, 25 mile ride and 6 mile run or so)
He swam well, crushed everyone on the bike, did a 7:45 pace on the run.
Led to winning his age group and 15th or so overall
One thing I am proud of with all my kids... they aren't afraid to try new things
Fun morning in Newport - Happy Sunday

Our team was led today by a brilliant 3rd place finish for Kamohelo Mofolo and 12th for Julia Paternain.
Both athletes gave the very best of themselves... in training and in the race. We are massively proud of their efforts and achievements.
Today we celebrate... tomorrow we rest.
