Spot bright Vega high in the west soon after dark. It's the brightest star there. Use it to find Altair, the second brightest, to Vega's left. Just upper right of Altair, is orange Tarazed, Altair's eternal little sidekick. buff.ly/yTMK2Wr #stargazing

With all of my talk about the arrival and departure of the X-59, I can’t forget about the support aircraft that escorted her from Edwards Air Force Base! About a half hour before the X-59 arrived, we welcomed NASA’s F/A-18D Hornet in its classic NASA paint scheme. It also departed about a half hour before the X-59. NASA’s 250th F-15 was the chase plane for the X-59, flying alongside her on the right during arrival and departing just behind her. Finally, NASA’s Gulfstream was also part of the support aircraft. It looked like someone onboard was taking photos of everyone on the ground during its arrival. I’d be curious to see what that looked like with so many of us excitedly waiting for their arrival! It was really awesome to witness this. It might not seem like much to some, but I feel like we were witnessing a little piece of aviation history as these aircraft make their way east. What a cool moment to be there for! @NASAAdmin @johnkrausphotos @NASA

Some galaxies shine, but Centaurus A haunts! This cosmic giant hides a dusty merger and a powerful black hole blasting enormous jets of particles into space.

“It’s now ‘pedal to the metal’ to the asteroid Psyche,” said Don Han, the Psyche mission’s navigation lead. NASA’s Psyche spacecraft has fired up its thrusters and will reach the metal-rich asteroid of the same name by the summer of 2029. Learn more: go.nasa.gov/4yRhoKU

This is one of the best space images ever. You are staring at the Carina Nebula. This entire structure is three light-years tall. 7,500 light-years away from us.

So funny you say that, it reminds me a little bit of a model we picked up at an estate sale, but at the same time completely different. The previous owner was a LM designer, and it’s such an interesting concept model. It has the front of an F-111, 4 engines of the F-16, “Firefox” wings (like the Clint Eastwood movie lol), and 2 vert stabs. Yes, it’s missing an engine for now, and the stand. But that’s what we’re looking into buying a 3-D printer for, and @TomcatJunkie ‘s work may have convinced my husband it could help.

Beneath the scorched skin of a spacecraft lies its true lifeline. 🚀 This striking view of a returned capsule reveals the complex anatomy hidden just under the heat shield. While the outer thermal tiles bear the brutal, charred scars of atmospheric reentry, a peeled-back section exposes an intricate network of precision plumbing, vital wiring harnesses, and advanced avionics. It is a stunning marriage of brutal durability and delicate engineering—the hidden nervous system that keeps astronauts safe while enduring temperatures hotter than lava.

This seems important for $ASTS. For sat to device communications, an elliptical shape was demonstrably more efficient than circle, square or hexagon and requires fewer antenna elements…and they patented it. Fewer antenna elements has implications for power management in a limited system.
ANOTHER DAY, ANOTHER PATENT 💪 The patent describes a satellite antenna architecture that emulates a rounded triangular phased-array design rather than traditional circular arrays. The company says this will make a more efficient system. $ASTS
