🚨NEW: A contentious interchange between the NY Times and @GinaHinojosaTX sheds light on the huge battle between Corporate Dems and center-left populism.
Amazing to see a Democratic candidate so explicitly cast her politics in contrast with her party's outdated neoliberalism.

What a heartbreaking week it has been. Sir Patrick Stewart was a friend, a colleague, and a magnificent actor. From the stage to the bridge of the Enterprise, he brought intelligence, grace, and a deep sense of humanity to everything he did. Captain Picard stood for the best of us, and so did the man who played him. I was filled with affection and admiration for him and his work.
My heart goes out to Sunny and his family. He will be deeply missed.
Again, he is in a small town populated by small farms/ranches, and rich folk wanting a quiet life outside Fort Worth. If Republicans have to rally in a small town to try and fire up those voters, your party is likely fucked.
Well damn. Another staple of my childhood has died. Rest in peace Captain Picard!

There's a new version of this post
Here's hoping that trend continues through Tuesday.

Another poll shows Abdul with 88% among black voters. Looking more and more like that entire narrative was a psy-op.
New Michigan Senate poll (Mitchell Research, Oct 26–27):
El-Sayed 51%
Rogers 44%
Women: El-Sayed +17
Ages 18–29: El-Sayed +43
Black voters: El-Sayed 88–7
White voters: Rogers +4
636 likely voters, ±3.9%

I already cast my vote for her. I hope all the Republicans and libertarians here who despise Flock recognize she’s the one who kick them out of our state.

“I like Turek because he loves Data Centers, loves Israel, and only moderately dislikes transgenders”
Josh Turek reminds me why I’m still a Democrat. He’s absolutely far more of a Fetterman Democrat than an El-Sayed/Piker “Democrat” ... and that’s exactly why I’m sending him a campaign contribution.
Turek understands something too many Democrats seem to have forgotten: You don't have to abandon common sense to be a Democrat. And you don't have to pander to the loudest voices on the left to win as one.
Here’s why:
Supports building new data centers with appropriate safeguards and opposes a blanket moratorium.
Calls out fellow Democrats for obstructing legislation on agriculture and data center development.
Opposes biological males competing in women’s sports (and willing to actually say it! )
Refuses to bow to the woke police or pander to lefty interest groups.
Recognizes Israel as an important American ally .... something that, shockingly, is now up for debate in our party according to other Dem Senate candidates.
Proudly embraces the moderate label: “Socially, culturally, you could define me as moderate,” he told Semafor.
Has no interest in pursuing impeachment or indulging the left’s obsession with it.

Again I am not quite ready to say I’m optimistic. I am the least pessimistic I have been my whole voting life. The GOP had to pump money into Abilene- the Bible Belt’s buckle. Trump is in Lubbock. Vance is in Weatherford. Not good signs for the GOP here in Texas.
On the day a sitting president landed in Lubbock, Texas, for the first time in 34 years, people waited for hours in lines stretching for blocks in this reliably red city. But the crowd wasn't waiting for President Trump. They were waiting for Democratic Senate candidate James Talarico. nbcnews.com/politics/2026-el…
She is free to run. However she has showed the voters who she really is. I doubt she makes it past the first round of primaries.
Pretty sure a Catholic Latina woman doesn't support Sharia law. However Abbott supports the right wing evangelical equivalent. I mean I'm pretty sure the Taliban are mad they didn't think of abortion posses first.
Good we are living through the dumbest timeline.
In a new poll, 15% of Americans said they believe between 1 and 5% of NCAA athletes are transgender.
14% think between it's between 6 and 25%.
Meanwhile, an NCAA spokesperson confirmed that the current number is "effectively" zero

Damn this sucks. Their cue was rock solid. What I really loved was their cheap tamale dinner. Odd thing to get at a barbecue joint I know. They were the best Tex-Mex style tamales in the area.
Longoria’s Barbecue in Fort Worth, known for its house-made brisket sausage, is closing after more than 30 years.

Wow! Things must be bad for Paxton if they have to have Vance host a rally in Weatherford. Its a community of small farms/ranches, and wealthy people wanting to be close enough to Fort Worth to commute, but out in the country. If a Republican has lost Weatherford, its really bad.
Just in: @JDVance to hold midterm rally in Weatherford, TX on Thursday, per RNC
Hal...le...Fucking...lujah!!! Brazil barely escaped a nightmare scenario. Thank god voters came out in enough force to reelect Lula. aljazeera.com/news/liveblog/…
To be fair she has been shit talking Bo for years.
The Republican mayor of Fort Worth - GOP nominee Bo French's home base - endorses Houston Democrat Jon Rosenthal for Texas Railroad Commissioner #txlege
She sounds almost as bad as Jasmine Crockett.
BASH: “You're still fully behind Abdul El-Sayed?”
STEVENS: “Look, I'm on the Democratic ticket. I can't say that I agree with everything that's gone on… I'm looking to be on the team to support my next governor Jocelyn Benson, and frankly these great Democrats who are working their tails off, who are going to make Hakeem Jeffries the first black Speaker of the House.”
BASH: “You didn't mention Abdul El-Sayed in that last answer.”
STEVENS: “Well, look, I would just say, you had asked me if I'm still on the team, I'm on the team.”
I guess it’s nice of Haley Stevens to clarify that if Abdul wins it is the second rejection of her by Michigan voters. She’s picking sides here.

Good for them. Glad they are having this level of success, and using it to do good things.
