More than 75 Southwest Gas employee volunteers, joined by their families, assisted with cleanup efforts at Big Bear Alpine Zoo in Big Bear Lake, California, painting, shoveling sand into animal enclosures, and cleaning public spaces. The zoo is a rehabilitation facility for injured, orphaned, and imprinted wild animals and is currently home to mammals, birds, and reptiles representing over 85 species. Sponsored by the Southwest Gas Foundation, the event was part of Southwest Gas’ BLUE – Building Lives Up Everywhere program, which encourages employees to volunteer their time to support local nonprofits and uplift the communities where they live and work. #Community #GivingBack

As we adjust our clocks for daylight saving time, remember these safety tips to keep your home secure and efficient: ✅Be aware of the smell of natural gas, which is similar to rotten eggs, and know how to respond in case of a suspected leak. ✅Ensure your natural gas meter is accessible and clear of any obstructions, such as snow or debris, to allow for accurate readings and safe operation. ✅Test your smoke and carbon monoxide detectors to ensure they're working properly. ✅Check and replace any necessary batteries in your emergency kits. ✅Adjust your thermostat settings for the changing season to save energy. Safety and reliability are our priorities, today and every day. Learn more at swgas.com/safety
