A father’s love for his daughter never ends, even when her time here does. There are no words to describe the heartbreak of losing a child or the emptiness that lasts a lifetime. The years may pass, but the love, the memories, and the longing to have her here with us never fade. If you are able, please consider making a donation to support us as we walk to honor Autumn this Saturday. These donations, no matter how small, help fund life-saving research, suicide prevention education, and support for families who know the unimaginable heartbreak of losing someone they love. Autumn will always be my daughter, our heroic archer. She will always be loved and always be a part of everything I do. afspwalks.donordrive.com/tea…

still gives chills
On this day in 2004, the first teaser trailer for Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith arrived in cinemas! Debuting alongside The Incredibles, the trailer gave audiences their first proper glimpse of Anakin’s transformation into Darth Vader and the long-awaited duel between Anakin and Obi-Wan. 22 years later, it’s still one of the greatest Star Wars trailers ever released.

The last few days are the brief, @davidellison. Patrick Stewart’s death did not produce a nostalgia spike. It showed that Picard still teaches people how to lead, how to listen, and how to hold a moral line without cruelty. That reach is rare. It is organic, it crosses age and politics, and it is not a campaign. People who agree on almost nothing still agree about Picard. The audience never left. The question for @Skydance @paramountplus @startrek is whether they build something worthy of that influence, or keep making shows that talk down to it.

ā€œStar Trekā€ star Gates McFadden pays tribute to Patrick Stewart, praising his performance as Jean-Luc Picard for giving people hope around the world: ā€œWe want to believe in our leaders. Society suffers when we do not. If we fear retribution and feel there is no choice but to live in blind obedience to those in power, we lose our way. We lose belief in our institutions. Good leaders are those who urge us to step up and demand justice and truth. They spark our imaginations with their visions of a better future. They educate us. Without a belief in the basic goodness of our leaders, we lose faith in ourselves and our collective future. Our standards and principles take a dive. A leader is also great when they understand sacrifice and responsibility. This is why, I believe, people tune into ā€˜Star Trek’ or listen to Shakespeare, music or art of any kind. We are searching for hope and elevation from the daily numbness or despair. A desire to do good in the world works better with both kindness and focus — and it works better when we are surrounded by art and invention that lifts us. Jean-Luc Picard embodied that ideal. Patrick’s death means the loss of Picard, which for some hurts even more than the loss of Patrick Stewart. Jean-Luc gave us hope.ā€ wp.me/pc8uak-1lI3RD

Physical AI comes to life when compute, software and robotics work together. That system-level approach was at the heart of AMD’s presence at the Minds in Motion Physical AI Summit at MIT last week, from Mark Papermaster’s opening keynote to three packed developer workshops and live demonstrations of AMD powered robots. Across the workshops and demo floor, we connected with researchers, students, startup founders and industry leaders exploring how to bring intelligence into the physical world. Thank you to Imagination in Action (@imaginationxyz) for hosting the summit in partnership with MIT, and to John Werner and Daniela Rus for hosting Mark’s keynote. Special thanks to @MassRobotics and to @MIT_CSAIL for helping bring this community together.

Among TNG’s many virtues is that it, like the X-Files, preserved a particular Type of Gen X guy who has since been lost to middle age, the technology industry, and small resort towns in the Pacific Northwest
I know everyone loves The Measure of Man but I've been convinced for a while now that some of his best acting was in this random episode from season 5, A Matter of Time. That's pure stage dialogue. He was so good. RIP
