Always ready for winter search and rescue.
@USCG is acquiring up to ten Special Purpose Craft – Ice Rescue Transport Second Generation boats for lifesaving operations on the Great Lakes.
These watercraft will replace current ice rescue boats nearing their ends of service, assuring that the Coast Guard can take on rescue missions as cold weather season approaches.

Ready crews need a ready waterfront. ⚓
A $7.8M contract will rebuild the pier and docks at Air Station Port Angeles, Washington: two new floating docks, a third repaired, a restored pier for USCGC Active (WMEC 618), and repairs to aging support structures in the boat basin.
That keeps Sector Puget Sound patrol boats, Station Port Angeles small boats, and Active mission-ready to save lives, enforce the law, and protect the Strait of Juan de Fuca, today and for decades to come.

Last week, @DHSgov @SecMullinDHS visited @USCG Air Station Elizabeth City to get a first-hand look at the hard work being accomplished by the crews at the Aviation Logistics Center and the Aviation Technical Training Center.
One more star, one brand-new rating. MCPO Christian Parker is the first Master Chief in the #USCG Robotics Mission Specialist (RMS) rating and its first Rating Force Master Chief, leading the crews who run our drones, underwater vehicles, robots and counter-UAS.
Hardware alone doesn’t create capability. Trained, accountable people do. RMS builds a dedicated career path from E-4 to Master Chief, with a Chief Warrant Officer Robotics Mission Manager specialty above it, so hard-won expertise stays in the field and other ratings can focus on their core missions.
Unmanned systems have moved from niche tools used by a handful of units to force multipliers across all Coast Guard missions as are the people who employ them.

Tampa’s crew and partner agencies seized 29,600 pounds of cocaine and 3,355 pounds of marijuana, worth an estimated $226.7 million, over the course of six interdictions.

The patriots of @USCG are on the front lines of protecting our borders at sea and in the air.
During my visit to HITRON in Jacksonville, I got to see firsthand the world-class training and equipment that our Coasties use to interdict drug vessels trying to smuggle dangerous drugs to our shores. Thanks to @POTUS Trump’s leadership, our borders are stronger than ever before – by land, by sea, and by air.
This wouldn’t be possible without the brave men and women of the United States Coast Guard.

Rescue Swimmer Josh Law embodies the service, strength, and will that define the members of @USCG.
For two hours straight, Law swam through the night in turbulent dark waters off the coast of California rescuing 16 migrants from a capsized vessel attempting to enter the U.S. from Mexico.
While many were rescued thanks to Law’s heroic efforts, 11 individuals from the vessel were never found. Human smugglers DO NOT care about migrants, and the journey by sea remains dangerous.
DO NOT ATTEMPT THIS DANGEROUS AND ILLEGAL JOURNEY.
Driving IT innovation to the fleet
The Coast Guard bought a warehouse facility in Elizabeth City, North Carolina, to host the service's new Systems Readiness Lab. The new lab merges multiple units into one command tasked with testing software for our aircraft and cutters before it reaches the operators who depend on it. Full occupancy: Summer 2027.
Coast Guard personnel have already begun installing equipment at the new Systems Readiness Lab. Once installation and validation activities are complete, the lab will serve as the center of excellence for software testing and streamline the fielding of new capabilities to the field.

The @USCG HITRON helicopter based interdiction unit is one of the most effective counter smuggling units of all time.
By shooting out the engines of smuggler vessels, they are able to stop MASSIVE amounts of drugs from entering our country.
@POTUS has supercharged the Coast Guard with billions in new investments, and we will continue delivering results with this new funding.

In fiscal year 2026, @USCG crews seized nearly 198,000 pounds of cocaine — more than 74M potentially lethal doses that never reached American communities.
That’s a second straight year above our historical average, following a record FY25: nearly 510,000 pounds of cocaine seized — more than 3X our annual average.
We’re continuing the fight against narco-terrorists through Operation Pacific Viper. Since August 2025, we’ve seized 260,000+ pounds of cocaine in the Eastern Pacific.
About 80% of seizures of U.S.-bound drugs happen at sea, underscoring the impact of maritime interdiction.
We stop the threat far at sea, before it reaches American communities. #USCG

Sector Southeastern New England and Office of Rapid Response and Prototyping (CG-RAPTOR) tested drones that launch remotely the moment a distress call comes in, streaming live video to watchstanders and cutting time to receive critical information by up to 77%.
@USCG is modernizing our capabilities to reduce response times and build a more agile, capable force.
