Twenty-Five Years of @bysa_fa :- A Legacy Built on Birmingham’s Young People As we approach BYSA’s 25th anniversary, I’ve just stepped out of a committee meeting feeling proud, energised, and more focused than ever. For a quarter of a century, the BYSA (Birmingham Youth Sports Academy) has shaped futures, raised standards, and stood with thousands of young people across our city. Today, we support between 550 and 700 young people every single week — giving them structure, confidence, belonging, and a positive environment to grow. None of this would exist without our founder, Anwar Khattak BEM QAVS BCAc . His vision and determination created the platform that continues to change lives. He didn’t just build an organisation — he built a legacy. And our volunteers… they are the heartbeat of BYSA. Brilliant people who give their time, energy, and care to ensure every young person feels seen, supported, and capable of more. Their commitment is the reason our impact is real and lasting. As we enter our 25th year, our mission is clear: strengthen our programmes, widen our reach, and take our work deeper into Birmingham’s diverse communities. Proud of our past. Focused on our future. BYSA is more than a sports academy — it’s a family, a community, and a legacy in motion. and we’re only just getting started ! bysa.co.uk

It’s been great to work with @WeAreSPR_ and get our members jobs and opportunities thank you to @PaulCadmanUK and team for making this happen. Onwards and upward - KRO
A Note of Gratitude: From Recovery to Record There are moments in business that demand reflection—not for sentiment, but for clarity. September ended and that was one such moment. @WeAreSPR_ , Starting Point Recruitment Limited recorded 140 job starts in September —a company record. Not a statistic, but a statement. A signal that the turnaround is not only real, but accelerating. A reminder that belief, investment, and sheer determination can defy even the most definitive predictions. This business was written off. £200,000 monthly losses. 158 staff at risk. Advice from the so-called experts: walk away, let it go, accept the end. We did not. A small group of us chose differently. We invested our own capital. We worked without pay. We committed seven days a week we rolled our sleeves up . We rebuilt—not just the infrastructure, but a standard that’s driven a culture of success . We are a third of the original team size , but we have exceptional colleagues, every one unique brilliant and have delivered three times the output as a norm now. Last year, I posted a quiet note of thanks. We were back in profit. It was not a celebration—it was a moment of respect for those who stood firm when it mattered most. This September, we moved from recovery to record. 140 job starts. 140 lives redirected. 140 futures shaped by a team that refused to quit. Our new Birmingham base, located in the heart of the Jewellery Quarter, reflects our intent: rooted, visible, and ambitious. Our Walsall office is alive with energy. Our national reach is expanding. Our commercial recruiters are setting the tone—sharp, driven, and delivering daily. We are now on a clear trajectory to becoming one of the most successful recruitment companies in the UK. Not because we chased recognition, but because we earned trust. To those who came on the journey—my respect, admiration, and loyalty remain unwavering. You have made a difference. You have my gratitude. Let’s knock October out of the park ! If you are seeking a recruitment partner with integrity, impact, and ambition—Starting Point Recruitment is ready. We don’t just fill roles. We build futures. startingpointrecruitment.co.…

Brilliant @PaulCadmanUK well said and proud to have you as our chairman leading us at @bysa_fa long may this continue and thank you to @MyBCU for giving our students the opportunities to flourish in education and graduating. KRO.
🎓 A Birmingham kind of brilliance… This afternoon at @MyBCU graduation ceremony, I had the honour of sitting on stage as over 500 students celebrated a defining moment in their lives. The energy, the pride, the sheer optimism in the room—it was Birmingham at its best. It was a privilege to share this occasion with our Chancellor Ade Adepitan MBE, our Lord Mayor Cllr Zafer Iqubal MBE, Vice Chancellor Professor David Mba, and Dr Pogus Caeser. Their presence—alongside so many distinguished guests—made today not just ceremonial, but profoundly meaningful. Witnessing Marcus Ryder receive his honorary doctorate was a particular highlight. A trailblazer in global media, Marcus has transformed crisis into action, championed diversity through the Sir Lenny Henry Centre, and led the Film and TV Charity and RADA through pivotal chapters. His work is a masterclass in meaningful leadership. Graduation is always a reminder of renewal. Of legacy passed on. Of hope in motion. But it’s also an opportunity to speak directly to those taking their next step. So, to every graduate, I offer this: • May you walk forward with purpose, guided by your roots and driven by your dreams—because the world needs your kind of courage. • Let your success echo far beyond titles, speaking instead of lives touched, barriers broken, and futures rebuilt. • As you rise, rise generously. Lift loudly. Lead quietly. And never forget that progress is made by those who dare to care. • Your journey starts now. Make it unforgettable. Make it unapologetic. Make it unmistakably yours. • In a world full of noise, may your integrity be the sound that lingers. Your legacy isn’t what you build—it’s what you leave behind. • Let your next chapter be a canvas of conviction, painted not with ease, but with impact. Brilliance isn’t claimed—it’s earned. This day was more than ceremonial. It was a testament to the kind of leadership and legacy Birmingham continues to nurture—and proudly elevate. Here’s to every graduate. May your future be bold, brilliant, and hard to ignore. Thank you 🙏🏻
