Since then, no update, until today….
@minhdo, COO at Animoca confirmed a few points today:
#1 Animoca "did not take any cash from SOMO or the original fundraise";
#2 it took over the IP "as a favor to a group of VC friends"
#3 the deal was "an asset sale for nominal amounts with zero investor capital attached";
#4 an announcement is coming "shortly".
For the investors who hoped the Animoca take over could be some light at the end of the tunnel to getting a closure on their investment (TGE), it looks highly unlikely.

We will publish an announcement shortly but to be clear Animoca did not take any cash from SOMO or the original fundraise. We took over the IP as a favor to a group of VC friends to try to revive it. It was an asset sale for nominal amounts with zero investor capital attached. Animoca has still been working to try to revive SOMO in some form.
Crunched some math and there seems to be a nice arb opportunity between xyz:ANT and io:ANTH
xyz:ANT is currently priced at $124 pps, impied a valuation of $2.04T versus the current $1.89T on io:ANTH
That's an 8% price difference.

I still remember the days when Hyperliquid wasn't the talk-thing of literally everyone. They feel nostalgic even though they aren't that far in the past.
