I usually split stablecoin yield into 5 buckets:

→ traders
→ protocols
→ TradFi
→ leverage

6/ Basis / funding = derivatives markets pay you
A “stable” vault can:
→ hold spot
→ short perps
→ capture funding / basis
@TradeNeutral is a good Solana example here. They run delta-neutral and funding-arb strategies designed to capture these spreads without taking full directional exposure.
PnL may look stable, but the risk stack isn’t. You’re still taking:
→ funding risk
→ execution risk
→ protocol risk
→ hedge / liquidation risk
Stable PnL ≠ stable risk.
