diffusing ai across the real world economy is really hard
long lake is the perfect team purpose built to do it
iβve never met a more ambitious group. grateful to work w @alextaubman @rasmuswissmann and co
excited to be first to take a swing like this, jobs not finishedβΌοΈπΌπ
Today, Long Lake completed our $6.3B acquisition of Amex GBT.
Long Lake acquires and transforms generational businesses with AI across the American services economy.
Amex GBT is the travel partner for 17,500 businesses in 140 countries. Last year, Amex GBT booked 35 million trips for 10 million travelers.
This marks Long Lakeβs 40th acquisition, and our family of companies now employs nearly 30,000 people.
We founded Long Lake three years ago with the thesis that AI is going to change every company, but thereβs a large overhang between AI capabilities and how most businesses leverage AI tools.
We partner with strong, profitable, and growing businesses to help them deploy AI and improve their customer service.
Our first cohort of companies has doubled their EBITDA in less than two years through topline and productivity growth, all while increasing headcount. (Weβre proud to say that weβve never conducted a layoff.)
Weβre excited to share a bit more about what weβve been up to.
thank u to all the local-dev fans for the validation
contrarian (?) take: local >> cloud
have basically moved off cloud agents for dev onto local
sandbox is the wrong abstraction, high fidelity persistence is everything. your ~/ contains everything you've ever done with every interface you interact with
codex / claude good enough to launch a ton of shit in parallel, your desktop is the ai native agent swarm
all auth covered "hey use my browser i'm already logged in" + codex can cua any other apps anyway
away from your computer? just remote control that shiii
turns out the ai native coding agent platform was just your mac. extrapolate
someone just told me about "connie chan" holy shit who tf is this woman and why is she the antichrist

was drinking a hint water and almost lost it when they showed the fucking radar glasses π
Weβve raised $1.3M from YC & Afore Capital so you never have to type or speak again.
Typing is slow. Talking into your computer is awkward. Subvocal fixes both
Our glasses give you the speed of speech without you making a sound or touching a keyboard.
It tracks your internal speech muscles with non-contact sensing and decodes silent, almost invisible mouthing into text at more than 200 words/min.
Pre-orders are now live at:

i was early to the trend of hating the founders fund copycat launch videos
the FF original was unique, inspiring, and innovative
all the imitators are pure larpslop
another absolute cinema video π€£π€£π€£
one of my frontier lab data buddies was asking me about βLuel AIβ and i sent them the epic rant that kicked it all off
I went through every data vendor that launched in the last 3 weeks. Almost all of them are lying about their revenue, their lab partnerships, and their backgrounds.
(skip to 1:04 if you want to skip context)
Too many founders and VCs have been fooled by these people. Stop believing everything you hear. Data is much harder than most people think.

tragedy of the commons will soon close the internet, proliferation of agents will clog the internet
cloudflare best positioned for this
saas spend is the dark forest
make too much noise on the balance sheet and get smited by the internal vibe coding army
PSA: IF YOU HAVE RUN OUT OF STORAGE ON YOUR MAC AND YOU USE THE CODEX DESKTOP APP, YOU PROBS HAVE A GAZILLION GB OF "CRASH DUMPS" (EG USELESS SHIT) TAKING UP ALL YOUR STORAGE
itβs time to have a conversation about 20vc

Replying to @HarryStebbings

we got so many models on our API. you want spark, we got spark. you want wonder, we got wonder. you want image, we got image.
actually pretty clear the downfall started when he lost the mandate here
