Crypto is the fastest moving industry on the planet, with industry-moving narratives being birthed and dying within hours on any day of the week. We have different "seasons" based on anything from memes to technological advancements to celebrities to collectibles. Attention moves quickly, and some waves move quicker than others, which is why it is so easy to be under the impression that communication and development are not moving fast enough. I don't fault my friend @tentaclepapi for making this post, as I have found myself sharing similar opinions in the past while working my former job leading comms for a launchpad on Base. The truth is, though, that competition without kingmaking is good, and Robinhood offers a ton of support to builders, both publicly and privately. The same can be said about core infrastructure providers like @Uniswap - there's always more going on behind the scenes. Robinhood Chain has been live since ~early July, with its biggest native platform @ponsdotfamily only going live as recently as July 13, 2026. There has never been a chain that has scaled this fast. It would be absurd to give up now, when we haven't even gotten to the main act, which is global distribution of crypto - the onchain future we're all building towards. A company the size of Robinhood (over $70B market cap) operating in traditional markets has an immense amount of regulatory requirements it has to follow, and the risk it took to come to the frontier of finance with Robinhood Chain is higher than most companies would ever even think about taking. The team has to get it right. They can't just shill our bags because there's momentum on crypto twitter and the trenches demand it. Robinhood is setting the stage for supporting onchain protocols and apps more directly - when it comes to supporting builders, look no further to their post 3 days ago outlining grants, launches, and milestones: nitter.cf/RobinhoodCrypto/status… Laying the groundwork for onchain economies to take shape with their support of Stock Tokens is another massive lift that may not seem as heavy as it really is - Robinhood recently added 8 new Stock Tokens, many of which are now available and eligible as collateral on Lighter and Pons - nitter.cf/ponsdotfamily/status/2… nitter.cf/Lighter_xyz/status/211… There is also an important distinction that many people are ignoring: the Robinhood Chain team is different from the Robinhood team. While their goals are shared, they operate as separate teams. Initiatives like the $700k trading sweepstake was almost certainly put live as a separate campaign to Robinhood Chain; the Robinhood Crypto Twitter did not even make dedicated posts about it. To use this as an example of the Robinhood Chain team being tone deaf is misleading and wrong. While their timing has not been perfect, nobody's is. Can their comms be better? Absolutely! I would love to see Robinhood ads every time I open Tik Tok, Instagram, YouTube, X, and other forms of traditional media, but know that timing, regulatory, and execution risk are higher in crypto than any other industry. I believe we'll get there. Distribution doesn't just come from the chain, though.
