The Philippine peso hit a record 64.17/$ on Tuesday, then bounced to 64.025 Wednesday after Manila said it would defend it.
63 to 64 took 12 days, a week after the BSP’s surprise 50bp hike.
Hikes alone may not turn it. Oil and the Fed also matter.
