I’m excited to announce the launch of the AYRE Think Tank, a forum dedicated to exploring how technology can empower human progress and build a better connected and more prosperous world for all. AYRE Think Tank will focus on four major themes: inclusivity, connection, prosperity and progress. A series of White Papers is in the works, the first focused on how emerging technologies will create enormous opportunities for young people, and the need for those opportunities to be shared by those in emerging markets. Technology is a rising tide that can (and must) lift all boats, regardless of one’s origins. Having recently turned 65, I can look back proudly on what I consider a life well lived, dotted with milestones I couldn’t have imagined growing up on a Saskatchewan pig farm. Many of those milestones were set because I was able to see opportunities where others didn’t, partly because they couldn’t see where technology was about to take us. But turning 65 doesn’t mean turning down the volume. Far from it. Going forward, I want to spend my time, focus and energies advocating for the countless millions of young people in developing markets who have brains, abilities and energy to spare. All they lack is the opportunity to apply those qualities to new technologies and to build a better existence for themselves, their families, their communities, and maybe the rest of the world while they’re at it. calvinayre.com/for-progress-…
