Will Campbell on Drake Maye:
"We’re in the huddle on that last drive, and he made that throw to Chism, I said, ‘You're the best in the fucking world.’ And everybody in here believes in him and knows what he can do and bring to this team. And I think it showed today."

This win over @BuffaloBills was a mindset game. Be bold and aggressive. Best thing about this win for @Patriots ?
No moral victory Monday.

Mike Macdonald just told Graham Bensinger that before his first game as an NFL head coach, Sean Payton called John Schneider and accused the Seahawks of running a SpyGate operation. According to Macdonald, Payton believed Seattle had planted somebody at Broncos training camp to film Denver's plays. What Seattle had actually done was watch videos that fans in the stands had already posted to social media. Payton threatened to take it public as a cheating scandal, Seattle told him they'd sue over false allegations, and he dropped it. Seattle won that game 26-20, and none of this came out for two years. Payton has not publicly responded.
Nothing Seattle did broke a rule, because a clip a stranger uploads to X belongs to everybody, including the team it's about. Spygate was a different thing entirely. New England was filming opposing coaches' defensive signals from an unauthorized location, which violated a written league policy and cost Bill Belichick $500,000, the franchise another $250,000 and a first-round pick. Watching the internet is homework. When a coach reaches for the word cheating to describe an opponent doing available work, he's telling you he got beat by preparation.
The part that should bother fans is what happened next. Denver has banned phones at its training camp for the past two years. That's the real outcome of this story, and it's happening everywhere as teams figure out that every person in the stands is carrying a broadcast camera. Open practice used to be the one time of year a regular fan got close to the team. Franchises are now treating their own season ticket holders as a security problem, and they're right to, which is what makes it depressing.
Seattle built its whole identity on this. The same franchise that got accused of spying for watching public video now has a staffer running Microsoft Copilot live in the coaches' booth during games, sorting formation tendencies and snap counts in real time. Mike Macdonald calls his philosophy chasing edges. In 2024 that meant watching what a fan in Denver posted on his way out of the parking lot. Payton's answer was to call a lawyer's bluff and then confiscate everybody's phone.
Mike MacDonald talking about a "behind the scenes cold war" between Sean Peyton's Broncos and Mike's Seahawks. It was over the use Twitter videos of the Broncos training camp reps by the Seahawks prior to their week 1 matchup in 2024.

This video of the Patriots after the 2019 AFC Championship in KC is incredible.
We’ll never see a leader like Tom Brady again. Goes up to every single person in the locker room. Belichick looks so happy. Gronk is awesome. Edelman saying “I wanna play to make you great” is so cool to see. This was peak Patriots football. This is what made the dynasty so great.

I’ve got nothing to say about that trade. I’ll reserve judgment until the offseason is complete, but what a disappointing way for the Jays era to end. Sucks.
