An anecdote about Deft 🇰🇷's leadership has been revealed by Kukmin Ilbo: "At one of the teams Deft had previously played for, the players' meal expenses increased compared to the same period the previous year." "When the team's management investigated why, they discovered that, the previous year, Deft had been leaving his personal card at his seat, telling younger, less experienced players, "Don't feel self-conscious. Whenever there's something you want to eat, use it." "He also frequently took the initiative in holding what players call "healthy discussions" when the team's atmosphere deteriorated due to losing streaks or other difficulties, helping turn morale around." "Because of this older-brother style of leadership, teammates tend to trust and follow him."
