If you want an Indian summer in the fall, you must clear out the humidity! That takes a cold front, which is finally working its way through. Those north and west of Omaha are likely going to see their 1st good freeze for this fall.
7-day rainfall maps. Not real accurate, as a localized area in MS had nearly 20" of rainfall!
FL had numerous areas well over 10". Record rainfall events have been recorded in the U.S. SW.
Need to watch the trend of hot and dry for the PNW and the northern range of the Rockies and into Canada. If the anticipated drought takes hold, it will be a Big Deal to farmers in the western 1/4 of the U.S. in 2027.
Brazil's soybean crop is going in a record pace. Bad for price because early generally ends up good for overall yields for corn and soybeans. Bad from the standpoint the crop is going in fast due to the lack of "consistent" rains?? Super wet to continue on southern Brazil.
OND and then NDJ, followed by the 5-month from the ECMWF. Dry in the northern Rockies and into Canada would be a bad thing for the 2027 growing season in our western states.
For the month of November and then the 3-month outlook. Unchanged to wetter in November, with the PNW seeing drier conditions developing in through January 2027. Shorter term, two maps showing where risks lie for heavy rain or snow events.
Historic flooding in AZ over the last 72 hours. Same in the SE U.S., with one location in southern MS picking up over 13". FL saw some extreme rainfall amounts, too.
Adding NV into our 4-corner rain states. Mountain areas now under winter weather watches and warnings.
The SE U.S. is finally picking up some needed precip, though too much too quick for some areas.
