I genuinely think if you’re dumb enough to believe this there’s a better argument for a conservatorship than there ever was for Britney Spears.
Trump: "Think of it. Your beautiful son leaves the house. His name is Tim. 'Goodbye Tim, I'll see you later.' 'Thank you, mommy, thank you.' And you don't see Tim for four days. Four days later, Tim comes back as Sally. Okay? It's true. We have states that are allowed to do that. A place called Minnesota. I won it 3 times."

We took a deep look at a remodeled Starbucks location, taking a shop in the Seattle suburb of Snohomish, Washington, that had good bones but was cold and white and a bit outdated, and giving it a warmer aesthetic that made the shop more inviting.
The company's remodel program is interesting, because the uplifts, which cost about $150,000 per shop, are done in a few overnight shifts and are instantly transformed. Starbucks was set to do 1,500 this year, so by avoiding closures the company probably saved about $7.8 million in lost sales, enough for about 52 more uplifts. It is planning thousands more in the coming years.
These remodels can move billions of dollars. Domino's rapid uplifts a decade ago drove $1.9 billion in system sales by 2019. Jersey Mike's added $800 million following its 2020 remodels. In both cases that drove the companies' valuations higher. Starbucks has had early sales success with its remodeled locations and it doesn't have to push franchisees to get it all done.

(1/X) It's striking to me how little anyone seems to care that Trump is openly working for Russia now, that he's openly helping Putin massacre Ukrainians.
It would be inaccurate to say that he's received less criticism for this than Obama got for wearing a tan suit...

"A world in which the White House is allied to the Kremlin was, until now, the stuff of paranoid fiction. Manchurian candidates and red presidents were fantasies, dark tales that Americans told themselves, like ghost stories around a campfire."

793,000 fewer jobs than originally reported.
GOOD.
President Trump promised to shrink the government, and now we’re shrinking the number of jobs we have to keep track of.
That’s called EFFICIENCY.

I think why Ossoff hits is because he actually sounds deeply offended by and contemptuous of Trump’s corruption, unlike other democrats who have a universally exasperated and preachy tone

That is exactly what I want to hear and how I want It said.
HAYES: You really seem like you don't like the guy.
OSSSOFF: I don't like bigotry. I don't like the Klan. I don't like neo-nazis. I don't like sitting members of congress who allow neo-nazi propaganda to be produced from their house. I don't accept that a sitting member of congress should appoint people to leadership roles in his political organization, with documented ties to the Ku klux Klan. It's not just the folks around Mike Collins, it's Mike Collins himself.

One of my most significant found photo collections to date. A few hundred color Kodachromes of the 1939 Golden Gate International Exposition on Treasure Island.
IN COLOR.
Very few color slides of this event exist. I found what may be the largest known collection of these in existence.
Kodachrome film had only been out since 1936. It was slow and expensive. The fair was built on a man-made island to celebrate the new Bay Bridge and the Golden Gate Bridge. They called it the Pageant of the Pacific. It ran in 1939 and 1940. Almost everything that survives is black and white.
Charles Cushman shot some color frames that are now at Indiana University. OpenSFHistory has published six 1940 night color slides and a smaller number of daytime ones. A few others are in private hands. That is most of the known color record outside of this set.
These came out of an estate sale in the Oakland hills. The Gayway with Sally Rand’s Nude Ranch and the sunburst lights down the middle of the street. The Tower of the Sun lit at night and reflected in the lagoon. The Court of Pacifica. The Japanese pavilion. Crowds in hats on the wide midways. Fountains and statues. The whole fair still sitting in the mounts.
What a time to be alive in San Francisco.
I am working through this collection but I've published the first 40 or so here (more to come): flickr.com/photos/thomashawk…
