They day is finally here!!!
@thebitmela is live 😎
We came, we competed, and we made our mark! Kenya U15 boys sign off from Azerbaijan after an incredible FIFA U15 World Cup & Festival campaign, finishing as runners-up in Tier A. A proud moment for the team and Kenyan football. The journey continues!

People are building exciting open-source features. Thanks to everyone contributing code:
- @falseparfaitt: PSBT import & descriptor checksums
- Rustaceanrob: BIP157 Backend
- @matthewvuk2: Ark Boarding POC
- Macgyver13: Silent Payments with FROST
Code reviews on the way 🏂
Replying to @falseparfaitt @FrostsnapTech
now i have three frostsnaps (they're absolutely beautiful) to learn and experiment with.
huge thanks to @sakak_musdom, @utxoclub and @LLFOURN. i'll be talking about these nonstop, brace yourselves hahaha

If the mug just said "Best Rakgadi" there wouldn't be any confusion.

Human-Directed Agentic Engineering. 👌
People are missing the point of Ginux.
I didn’t create another kernel to compete with Linux. That is idiotic!
In fact I consider the code disposable. Think about that…
Ginux wasn’t the product. The development process was the experiment. The kernel was the evidence.
Could AI, directed by an experienced engineer, could build and validate an extraordinarily complex software system.
In just 11 days, I produced an independent kernel capable of booting Rocky Linux 10 with systemd.
That was the experiment. And while Ginux isn’t a complete Linux aligned kernel, the experiment is complete.
The research paper documents the methodology, results, and limitations.
Since publishing, people have started finding bugs and security issues. That’s fantastic! Independent review is exactly how complex software gets better.
There has already been an initial security review, and there’s a remediation plan sitting in context that I’m considering implementing.
So the question is, since the experiment is complete, do I even do anything further here?
Maybe there is an interesting experiment in measuring how efficiently human-directed AI can fix the problems external reviewers discover?
How much time does it take to reproduce an issue, identify the root cause, implement a fix, and validate the result? How much human intervention is actually required?
That’s potentially an even more interesting situation than the original 11-day experiment.
Because the real question was never whether AI could replace Linux. Even if it can replace some aspects of its functionality, it can’t replicate the community, standards, collaboration, alignment, or stability.
If you still believe that Ginux was designed to be a Linux replacement, you should read the actual paper.

The creator of CentOS and Rocky Linux built a new OS kernel with AI in just 11 days.
It’s called Ginux, and it can already run selected Linux programs without the Linux kernel underneath.
Gregory Kurtzer guided the design while Codex wrote and tested around 139,000 lines of code.
Written mainly in Rust, Ginux has its own memory management, scheduler and networking. It even boots Rocky Linux 10 with systemd in a virtual machine.
It’s still an experimental prototype, with incomplete compatibility and hardware support. The code is open source under Apache 2.0.
Eleven days to get this far. Now comes the harder part of making it reliable.

Today we launched the Bitcoin Security Stress Test.
Pick a custody setup, throw incidents at it, and see what survives.
Here's what happens when your custodian gets hacked, and how it compares with other custody approaches.

We've identified & fixed an issue impacting our international platform, Polymarket.com. One of our 3rd party providers was compromised, and we have referred this to relevant law enforcement.
Anyone who has been impacted will be made whole.
Out of an abundance of caution, we have temporarily halted trading & are working to bring the platform back online.

It does look like a hack on Binance. Appreciate the quick freeze from Tether (~$971m) and Circle (~$823m).
I don't manage Binance (.com) anymore, but as a shareholder, I expect all user funds will be fully covered.

WE ARE NOT ASKING FOR HANDOUTS FOREVER. WE ARE ASKING FOR A CHANCE TO STAND ON OUR OWN! ❤️
Sometimes, when food is unavailable at our orphanage, we try to find work on other people's farms to earn something for the day and help our children survive. Unfortunately, finding work is not always easy, and we cannot depend on these opportunities every day.
We are doing our best to care for the 113 orphaned children under our responsibility. Our struggle is real, but we refuse to give up on them.
OUR DREAM IS TO BECOME SELF-SUSTAINABLE! 🐔
We are seeking support to establish a poultry farming project that will generate income to help us:
🍚 Feed our children every day.
📚 Pay for their education.
🧼 Provide essential basic needs.
🏠 Continue constructing our permanent orphanage home.
We do not want to depend on donations forever. We want to build a project that will help us provide for our children with dignity and create a more secure future for them.
🙏 PLEASE HELP US START THIS PROJECT. Your contribution, however small, can help transform the lives of our children.
### ❤️ SUPPORT ORPHANS OF UGANDA
You can support us through any of our three Bitcoin donation addresses:

⚡ Machankura (Lightning):

Every donation brings us closer to a future where we can feed, educate, and care for our children through our own income-generating project.
Let's turn our daily struggles into lasting solutions. Help us build a future where no child has to worry about their next meal. ❤️🙏
May Allah bless everyone who supports our children. Ameen.
Bitrefill has been solving real problems for real people since 2014!
Was once again reminded this morning that @bitrefill is sooo practical for paying utility bills in El Salvador at a distance with bitcoin/lightning. Paid both water (Anda) and electricity (Delsur) with one lightning payment. Only takes a minute. Love the service.
