Um, I do know he's had a lot, a lot of problems, a lot more or most of the problems have been on George's car this season. Um, and so I think it's been very, very challenging for him. Whereas Kimi's kind of had a much more simple, in respect to kind of issues with the car through the year. But, um, and then he's also delivered just when every single weekend. So, um, I think George had a really good pace, particularly at the beginning. Um, but it's like a couple steps forward and a couple, you know, a step back. Davide Camicioli Sky F1 Italy: What did go right for you after the fantastic win in Baku?
George Russell: I mean, if we had the answer, we would be able to maybe replicate it more often. And that's being part of the challenge this year. You know, some of the confusion, you know, we, I came out of Monaco early this year, and it was a very difficult weekend for me.
And I went to Barcelona and was quickest in every session and put it on pole. Went to Austria, the next race was on pole again. And then a few races later, I was qualifying down in P5 and P6.
And, you know, Baku on pole by eight tenths. In Malaysia, I qualified, I don't know, I think it was P8, maybe I qualified in Malaysia. And I feel in the years gone by, I had a pretty high hit rate of reaching the potential of the car.
And maybe at the end of the season, there were four or five races I feel that were not maximised. But, you know, I remember 2022, we finished in the top five, more than any other driver in the whole season, I think it was 19 from 22 races. And this was the third best car on the grid. And now this season, we have the best car, and I'm not able to achieve these results.
So it's, yeah, it's quite, quite strange and certainly scratching our head a little bit. And it's definitely not through a lack of trying. #MexicoGP #MercedesAMGF1 #F1
